Hi, I’m Ami Sepahpur, a Bay Area–based artist with over 10 years of experience in 2D and 3D art. I hold a BA in Studio Art from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and an MFA in Animation & VFX with an emphasis on 3D Modeling from the Academy of Art University.
I’ve worked across a wide range of projects—from games and feature films to pet portraits and personal commissions. My work draws inspiration from everyday surroundings, small happenings, and the ordinary moments I capture in my photo gallery. In my natural habitat, you can usually find me sitting on the floor surrounded by art supplies, sketching in my sketchbook (hence the Instagram name @ami.drawsonfloor).
Art is a therapeutic practice for me. While my style is adaptable and versatile, I like to capture the raw human form—not for perfection, but for its honesty and rhythm. My academic studies in 3D and traditional sculpture deepened my understanding of depth, form, and the language of shapes, allowing me to reimagine anatomy through emotion rather than precision.
My creative process begins with sketches on paper, then evolves through tools like Procreate, ZBrush, acrylics, or colored pencil. It’s a blend of technical skill and curiosity, always chasing new ways to bring ideas to life. With over 16 years of study in anatomy and visual form, I like to distort and transform natural shapes, making them more grotesque yet alive, revealing something visceral and deeply human beneath the surface.
