FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge $50 an hour.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First, I spend 10-15 minutes on the phone making sure we're a good fit. If we decide to meet, then I will spend the first session asking you questions to better understand your goals. If you are a student, or an English language learner, I may ask for a short writing sample to assess your current reading and writing skill levels, and also get a sense of your use of vocabulary. It's my belief that student centered sessions work best, so I'll ask you to be involved in the process every step of the way, including long-term plans (a full semester or a year) and being accountable to me at each meeting. It's my goal to help you build confidence and also to help you maintain agency.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have an MA in Writing from the University of San Francisco, over 10 years working as a tutor there in the Writing Center, and am certified as a Amherst Writers and Artists writing workshop facilitator. I also lead on-going manuscript feedback workshops, and I am a published writer.
