Introduction: Fascinating Rhythm Dance School was founded in 1977 and offers private lessons in all the Ballroom and Latin dances. I have developed my own unique method of teaching developed from over 20 years of experience. I emphasize style and technique and having fun! The most popular dances now are Salsa and Swing, but Tango and Foxtrot are close behind. But we teach Waltz, Cha cha, Hustle, Rumba, Merengue, Country Western, and more. A single hour is $70, but you really can't learn much in an hour, so we offer a package of four hours for only $260, a savings of $20. We also specialize in choreography for the most important "first dance" at your wedding. For weddings, choreography is an additional onetime fee of $35 for up to 2 1/2 minutes. There's an additional $15 a minute after that. Our lessons are a full sixty-minute hour and are totally private!! No one else is watching you. From the moment you step onto the dance floor you will move with poise, confidence, and a smile. If getting married, we promise to make your first dance memorable, even if you have two left feet! It is the most rewarding experience for me to see people's lives change through learning how to dance. The shy, introverted come out of their shell and the outgoing have an outlet to express themselves. Self-esteem rises, posture improves, and overall health is affected positively. This is very satisfying to see, and their happiness is contagious. I learn more from my students about life, as I teach them about dance.

Working with Marge has been so much fun! We have an incredible 2:40 long choreographed dance routine with fun spins and lifts. Neither of us have danced before and Marge made it so easy. :) It’s been one of the highlights of the wedding planning process. Would highly recommend!

Happy with my first lesson already. I’m looking forward to he rest of the lessons. Me and my fiancé is taking our first dance lesson. We made our own songs and send it to her, so she can make our dance move ahead of time. She very calm and professional in teaching our lesson like a true beginner. Easy to follow and amazing deal. Her private home studio is cozy and clean.

Literally I can't express how grateful I am to have discovered Marge. I went to her with no plan (no wedding, event, etc.), except "get better at salsa" and the hopes to have a romantic date night with my partner with the added benefit of improving my dancing abilities and burning off some calories. I quickly realized that I had stumbled upon such a sweet soul, a patient teacher with years of dancing experience to share. My work stresses melt away, and I'm finally able to live in the moment. My weekly dance sessions with her are the highlights of my week. My partner and I had gone to Arthur Murray for a trial run but found that (1) they were offering to charge us an insane amount for what only amounted to a few private lessons, and (2) only had locations that were too out of the way for us. Marge is IN San Francisco, and she also makes getting to class seamless by always having a parking spot available. The first thing I noticed was Marge's dedication. She greeted my partner and I on our first class with "what I planned for your lesson today is..." I couldn't believe she spent the time OUTSIDE of our allocated class to prepare a lesson plan for us! And after every class, she hands us a HANDWRITTEN paper of what we what we just went over the day and stores it in a personal folder she has set aside for each of her students!! All of that effort truly solidifies to me that Marge takes her teaching very serious, and that as a student she is WITH me on my journey of dance improvement. None of that goes unnoticed. I feel like a stroke gold, in terms of convenience, skill, professionalism and price; her classes are honestly way cheaper than they should be at $50 a class. On top of that, she is well-versed in so many types of dancing that one can spent countless hours with her and gaining so much in terms of dance experience. For this, and all reasons above, I plan on taking classes with Marge for as long as she is continues to offer them. Thank you Marge.

Marge choreographed the first dance at our wedding - it was beautiful and we couldn't have been happier. She clearly put in a lot of effort preparing for our lessons. Her studio is a great space to practice and is very charming. I highly recommend working with Marge!!

My (now-) wife and I were anxious about the first dance at our upcoming wedding, so we sought out dance classes. Marge was able to book us for a couple lessons promptly. Beyond expectations, when we arrived, Marge had already prepared a choreography based on a youtube video we sent her. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I compare my prices with all the dance schools in my area of the San Francisco Bay Area. I work out of my home, so I can offer a much better price, because I have no overhead. I don't need to add on $15 to pay for the rental of an off site dance studio, and I have no expenses for travel time.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When meeting a new dance student, I tell them about my dance training and history of teaching. I ask them about what they want to learn, their desires and goals. Is it for a wedding, fun, exercise, or simply to make new friends? I ask if they have taken dance before. All of the questions help me design a dance class customized just for them and the goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I started dance lessons at age 4 in ballet, tap, and acrobatics. My mom was a profession dancer. Dance has been a part of my life as long as I can remember. I drifted away from dance in my early teen years, but found my way back learning "partner" dancing...all the Ballroom dances, such as Swing, Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango, and so much more. It is SO much fun!
