- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?At Northwestern Mutual, we get compensated 2 ways: - Commission based: In this case, we will create a plan for you without a fee and we will get compensated by the firm if you decide to work with us on a long- term basis and implement the plan. - Fee based planning. We will create a plan for a fee regardless if you work with us or not. Fees are based on the complexity of the plan.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?We have created a simple process for our clients. It has three stages: 1. Getting to know each other stage, it is critical to build a trusting relationship. The first step is to schedule an in-person or over the phone conversation to learn about our clients, their goals, vision, bucket list, financial straight to truly understand their philosophy about money, the future and to understand what is important to them at this stage of their lives. 2. Based on the conversation, we build a written plan that addresses our potential clients concerns, objectives and goals. This is the stage to talk about strategy, tactics, financial products and see there is a good fit or a desire to work with us on a long-term basis. 3. If a potential client is happy with the plan, we will bring the plan to life by helping them implement the strategies and recommendations. At this point, we are going to be working together on a long-term basis. Our team will check in with you as often as you like, and as little as twice a year. Regardless of how busy our lives are, we recommend to meet at least once a year to review the plan, change it as needed, and continue to grow your wealth and our partnership.
