I have hired Twinks a few times for private dog walking through Thumbtack, and she has been wonderful to work with and communicate with. I can trust her with entering my apartment without anyone home, and always know that she will be able to take good care of my two small dogs. She also sent me updates of my pups in time when I travelled away from home. Would vouch for Twinks and recommend her to anyone!Mar 31, 2020VerifiedTwink's Housesitting, Dog Walking & Animal Care's reply
Thank you, Vivienne, for your thoughtful review! I appreciate your preparedness with the pups, making my arrival easy, and efficient for making a quick departure for our walk. It’s very helpful that you leave everything I need, their food, cleaning supplies, and leashes and sweaters at the ready, well organized. Your pups are high energy, friendly and well-loved, so for me to keep their routine, makes them excited to see me, a good feeling. I look forward to seeing them on every occasion, and enjoy doing business with you. Take good care, and stay safe and healthy! All the best, Twink
Twink is the BEST. I adore her and (even more importantly) my dog adores her. He’s an old boy and we have been very particular about dog walkers in the past, but I can rest easy during my long days at work knowing my best bud is being so well taken care of. He LOVES going to the park with Twink. I know this because every time we are walking near there, he pulls in that direction or stops at a street corner, refusing to follow me, wanting to go where his other best friend takes him. Aside from the wonderful care, she is also very responsive, flexible, and has some of the best stories to tell. I can say that Finnegan and I have both found a wonderful friend.Jan 31, 2020VerifiedTwink's Housesitting, Dog Walking & Animal Care's reply
Thanks, Liz, for your glowing review, much appreciated! Also appreciated is how well you prepared me for Finn, as senior pups can get set in their ways! A little love and affection can go far. Knowing what to expect by way of quirks and fancies have helped in getting to know him. Unexpected behavior can be a negative, such as when he might suddenly bolt at the sight of a cat, or a skateboarder coming towards us! Also, I appreciate you having him fully prepared for our walk, harness on, leash and collar ready, making it easy to get out the door and spend the entire hour actually walking or trotting, exploring new spots. I look forward to spending more time with Finn, as it’s a pleasure for me to be with a happy and well-adjusted and adventurous doggie!
Twink and her son have been awesome. They have been doing daily walks with our dog. They are extremely reliable and willing to work with the quirkiness of our dog (and her owners!). I highly recommend her.Oct 3, 2016VerifiedTwink's Housesitting, Dog Walking & Animal Care's reply
Hi Laura, Thank you for this great review. Telling me about Milly's personality and her physical condition has definitely made us a compatible pair, and easier for me to accommodate her needs and wants. She is a very sweet girl, and I enjoy our time together. She loves the tummy rubs and brushing daily after our walks to the park.
Twink is the ULTIMATE dog walker/care giver/ friend of the animals! Our dog Chloe is obsessed with her, and wags her tail in delight whenever Twink comes to walk her. She is caring, considerate (Chloe has some significant attitude and smells EVERYTHING), and very professional. We are lucky to have her to work with, and she helps us keep our dog perfectly cared for, happy, and contented. She customizes Chloe's walks to her health needs, our neighborhood, and our mood that week - and we are more than comfortable having her in our home and caring for the most important little member of our family. We HIGHLY recommend her pet care!Aug 4, 2015Verified
Twink is absolutely amazing!! As with many other pet owners, I was very hesitant to let a stranger into my house when Im not home and even more to take my pup on a walk and be responsible for his well-being. But all my hesitations were put at ease after just one visit from Twink! From the first time my dog and I met Twink, we knew she was completely trust-worthy and reliable. She is great with both my older retriever mix (who goes on walks) as well as my young and very bold kitty (that she hangs out with after and before the walk). You can definitely tell she has extensive experience with animals and really understands them on an individual level. She is very professional, always on-time and even sends me pictures and updates of my dog while they are on their walk. Sampson (the pup) loves his individual walks and the hour long walk provide him with a great mid-day work out. With my work schedule, meetings and other things will occasionally pop up and with very short notice Twink has always been available to help me out! I highly recommend her and after about 10 visits have nothing but glowing, five star reviews!Feb 25, 2016VerifiedTwink's Housesitting, Dog Walking & Animal Care's reply
Hello Brittany, Thanks for your positive review. Upon meeting and you Sam, It helped me to receive all of your input about Sammy's personality, his likes and preferences (especially with treats!), as each dog is different and unique, just like people! It's a pleasure being with him, and really fun to send you photos and tell you where we've been. He's always wonderfully responsive and a joy to walk. I look forward to any and all future walks we may take together! And as for Brody, he's about as cute as a kitty comes, and always welcomes my cuddles and pats. Thank you for taking Me in!
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? For driving services, dog-walking and kitty-care, my standard rate is $25 per hour, walk, or home visit. If more than one hour is needed at a time, the rate goes down. For housesitting, with or without pets, the rate is negotiable, ranging from $65.00-$95.00 per night, depending entirely on what and how many pets there are, and all of the responsibilities included during my stay. For example, are medications to be dispensed? Do any of the pets have special needs? Mail brought in? Cars moved? Trash out? Watering of plants? Linens changed? The answers to these questions and others determine the rate. No two jobs are alike!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?First, I like and need to learn exactly what it is the customer wants and for how long. After meeting, we both decide whether I'm a good fit for the job, based on my experience, knowledge, and a mutual understanding about the client's expectations.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?My training and education is directly related to my life experience of working and caring for animals and others' homes. I pride myself in using intuition, experience and understanding when it comes to applying my knowledge and experience to the clients' needs.
