Learning a language is like learning how to play a new musical instrument. That new musical instrument is your voice. Words are your musical notes. Chords are your grammar. Writing is your new musical notation.
You can learn to play "by ear 👂," if you'd like. But you can never fully get away with not knowing any of the chords.
You can learn to whistle but sooner or later you will have to sing and play. You will have to practice. You will have to rehearse. You will have to perform.
All you need is a little shift, a little tweak in the way you think about languages and how they work.
