Introduction: My lessons are built on stressing proper movement and footwork (obtaining a workout), having fun and coming away from the lesson with several helpful stroke pointers and strategy features to implement when practicing on ones own time. With beginners and intermediates, I strive to teach consistency of fundamentals, thereby establishing proper muscle memory within both the stroke and footwork framework. I also seek input from the student, particularly advanced players, as to the aspect of the game they prefer to focus upon. I emphasize "patterns" of how to effectively develop a point/ strategy for advanced players rather than mindlessly hitting the ball over the net. This serves to create winning results by stressing the strengths of the particular player and exposing weaknesses of any given opponent.

Great experience getting back into the tennis game after 17+ years and learning the basics with Coach Daniel. I feel like after 3 lessons I am already a lot better and my old skills are coming to show. Coach Daniel is always punctual, ready to challenge me on the court and corrects my bad habits. I have really enjoyed my time back on the court!

Julio was a great coach. I was really horrible when I first started and I managed to get a consistent forehand and backhand with his lessons. He emphasized hitting balls that would make me a good tennis partner. He was patient with me and always in good spirits when we met up. If you’re in the city Julio meets at neighborhood public tennis courts and while he tries to get there beforehand to reserve the court, things don’t always work out. Rescheduling was never a problem, he’s pretty flexible.

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

In 10 lessons you’ll be able to play with other people and start to play points. That is always the goal when we are on the court. Ideally be taking two lessons a week. We can have a fixed schedule. I’m flexible as well.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I always come up with a plan and goals for each new player I meet. I am passionate about teaching you the game of tennis and you’ll see this in the first 5 minutes of meeting with me.

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

I can happily say tennis saved my life! Growing up in the tough streets of San Francisco in the early 90’s all I saw was gang related activities. Tennis always keep me busy as a young boy. And now I look back, I’m happy it was available to me.
