While gear is important on one hand, it's just gear. Pay attention to people's reels, and find someone whose general style and aesthetic speaks to you. One person may be really well suited for some type of work but not so much another. All other things being equal, relationship is really important; try to find someone who you think you will get along with and who will be able to understand your needs.
