Introduction: Communicate well. Solve problems. Make money. Writing, Illustrating, Internet Technical Communications Services January 1990 to Present (22 years) All Subjects. Any Style. Andrea Sharp went to Switzerland a while back and wrote the user manuals for the Voice of America's digital scheduling system. She's since worked as a freelance technical writer and copywriter, illustrator, requirements analyst, and editor for companies in the Silicon Valley, L.A, Newport Beach, Malibu, and San Diego. In 3rd grade, she won $1 at a birthday-party American Bandstand from a panel of moms. (Thank you Jerre McLuen, wherever you are!) Years later, Andrea was one of a few songwriters, along with artists like Roger McGuinn (of the Byrds) and blues guitarist Steve Mann, who were performing solo at the L.A. Roxy on Sunset Boulevard. Yep, Andrea came to IT from arts and entertainment after about ten years of fun in the world of independent and studio-financed film-making. She's the author of feature-length screenplays and clever rhyming children's stories, creator of an award-winning short film, and composer of a lot of original songs. Writing accomplishments include complex technical documents, entertaining feature articles, creative and powerful marketing copy, persuasive speeches, advertising jingles, voice-over narration, and professional press releases. She can also build beautiful web sites, and then write produce, record, edit, and mix video and audio for them. Illustrations range from detailed technical diagrams to slick logos, colorful greetings, and cartoons for children's literature. Her work in technical communications and marketing has been highly praised for excellence in clearly explaining complicated systems and process flows, unifying scattered teams, skyrocketing prospects and helping close deals by such notables as Adobe, Silicon Publishing, ModelPeople, Lysis, Chart Learning Solutions, and WebVision. (Praise for her work as an entertainer hasn't been too shabby either!) She prefers WordPress, but has worked with Drupal and other systems. Not a programmer, but familiar enough with PHP, CSS, Java Script, databases, and requirements management that programmers love working with her. For recommendations, see Andea Sharp, Writing, Illustrating, Internet on LinkedIn. Andrea earned a B.A. (honors) from U.C. Berkeley, and a Master of Fine Arts from U.C.L.A. Education University of California, Los Angeles MFA, Film, Television, Theater 1985 - 1991 University of California, Berkeley B.A., Rhetoric, Spanish 1979 - 1981
