I cannot say enough good things about Santiago and his El Cumbala crew! Santiago was a dream to work with, not always an easy task because I was coordinating our California high school reunion from Missouri. He was responsive to phone calls/emails, provided upfront and honest pricing, and was very flexible when our headcount changed as our event drew closer. Chef Antonio was right on time for getting set up, and food was delivered as promised. The entire crew was very nice, and we happily treated them to a cold beer for their excellent service and wonderful culinary delights! Our class holds a reunion every five years and everyone raved about how delicious the food was…the best we have ever had at one of these shindigs! I am positive I made the right decision in selecting El Cumbala and look forward to working with them again at our next event. Five stars from the Terra Nova High School, Class of 1981!

Absolutely recommend El Cumbala- Santiago & Claudia were amazing. We hired them to bartend and provide event support at a wedding reception. Our guests loved the tasty drinks and service. Santiago helped us codesign a fantastic menu- even helping us concoct a cocktail using a special ingredient that is meaningful to us. He was such a clear and reliable communicator throughout!

We had such a lovely experience with Santiago for our wedding! The drinks were mixed perfectly and the guests were raving about the service. I can recommend them enough! We had 80 guests and no one had to wait long for a drink!

Santiago and his coworker made craft cocktails for our wedding reception. The drinks were amazing, but better yet was how responsive and thoughtful Santiago was. He communicated just enough, made a lot of really helpful suggestions when our venue had liquor restrictions, purchased alcohol for us so we wouldn’t need to make multiple trips, showed up very early to get ready, and was so friendly in person. We can’t recommend him more!

Thumbtack also only allows me to choose three items (i.e. Work Quality, Professionalism, etc..) but I wish I can choose all 5 - Work quality, professionalism, responsiveness, value, and punctuality) My Aunt recommended Thumbtack to me, as I was in search of hiring a personal bartender for my husband's 30th Birthday. I inquired to many different companies, but something felt right about hiring Santiago. I was absolutely right. From the moment I sparked interest, Santiago was extremely responsive, made adjustments accordingly, was so flexible, and overall so easy to work with. I highly recommend him and his services. My family and friends were amazed of him and the drinks were phenomenal. My cousin even requested a specific drink with a bottle of Soju we had, and Santiago made up something on the fly. I cannot thank Santiago enough for his services, how professional he was, and how much he made my husband's birthday THAT much more special. Please hire him! What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
For the last 5yrs I’ve designed and led restaurant programs for several groups around the Bay Area including Classic American, Fine Dining, Asian, Craft Concepts and Mediterranean
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I fell in love with hospitality and beverage early on working as a restaurant manager and bartender. The more I studied the food and bar fare, the more excited I was to deliver a great experience to every guest.
