My teen son has been taking upright basslessons with Andrew for a little over 2 months. I tend to make myself scarce during lessons but from what I have seen and what my son has told me he is very nice and patient and my son seems to feel very comfortable in his lessons with Andrew. (Any of us who had mean music teachers as kids can appreciate that!) My son really likes that Andrew really takes the time to circle back on concepts and making sure Parker is really getting things and understanding before moving on. I think it is really helping cement a strong foundation for my son. My son was playing the upright on his own for over a year and now he is appreciating the music theory that Andrew is providing. My son is always in a great mood after his lessons and feels like he is learning and improving every week. I am really happy that my son's experience with Andrew has been very positive, I would highly recommend him.

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing is usually straightforward, I usually collect via Venmo or Paypal after each lesson but a monthly payment plan can be worked out upon request.
My only "fee" would be my 24-hour cancellation/rescheduling policy.
Any lesson cancelled last-minute are generally charged, but if you can communicate before the 24 hour mark these schedule changes are done for free.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first lesson is the "getting to know you" lesson. We'll discuss your personal goals regarding the bass as well as gauging your abilities to see what material will be a good fit.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Bass Performance from the Berklee College of Music and 5+ years of teaching bassists in individual/group settings. |
I've also worked as a Bass Clinician in a variety of Elementary/Middle/High schools throughout the Bay Area.
