I just started riding a little while ago, most trainers that have given me lessons have looked down on me; being a beginner on the older side. I really appreciated how she treated me like the age I am.

I started taking lessons at St. Francis Riding Club a few weeks ago and have nothing but positive things to say: the horses are well trained and treated well, the instruction is impeccable, and Oni is awesome. I look forward to going every week.

Nessa is a patient and wonderful coach, and she very knowledgeable about horse riding. As a working professional, flexible sessions made it convenient for me and also a dream come true. I can now enjoy this rewarding activity while traveling abroad and a good coach makes a difference. I'm very proud to have learned proper horse riding from her.

Kate Little was extremely helpful and took my needs into consideration during my lesson. I got a full hour lesson if not more, and she was solely focused on me and my riding. I will definitely take more lessons in the future with Kate.

I have been training with Dina for 10 years. She is a phenomenal teacher. Dina learns each of her students’ strengths and weaknesses and tailors her lessons accordingly. She always talks with her students to find out each of their goals and develops a program to help them reach it. I am always telling her she has the patience of a saint. My riding skills would not be where they are today if it weren’t for her teaching me over the years. Dina always gives the horses the best care and training. I never worried about my horse when I had to leave town because I knew he would be cared for like he was her own. Dina incorporates many different activities (shows, trail rides, cross country schooling, horse camping) to make her students’ riding experience the best it can be. If you are looking to advance your riding skills and have a good time doing it, I highly recommend training with Dina.

I highly recommend this trainer and his methods. This past summer it was my job to take an untrained headstrong 3 year old mare (July) and turn her into a sound riding horse. I soon learned that I was in way over my head and needed help from someone with extensive training experience and past knowledge. That person was Bill Baehr. Bill worked with July and I from start to finish, first teaching excellent ground manners and respect of personal space, desensitization and trust, and finally the lesson that being ridden can be fun. July progressed quickly and before I knew it, it was time to lope her across open country. Amazing! I never would have thought that you could take an untrained, barely handled mare and have her learn so much so fast. Bill was not only extremely thorough and comprehensive, but he was unhurried and made sure we had the results we wanted before moving on to the next task. Riding an inexperienced horse can be scary, but I knew that Bill and I had done the necessary groundwork and I trusted him completely. By using proven training methods, Bill ensured the safest environment possible for me and my horse. Bill was also kind to the horse and very patient. The best part of the training was my direct involvement, and Bill’s belief that the rider/owner must have a hands –on role. I pestered him with many questions about how and why things were done, and Bill patiently explained everything I needed to know. He would show me what to do and I would take over and do them, while he coached me every step of the way. Learning how to train from Bill was a privilege and I would love the opportunity to work with him again. I truely believe in his methods and would recommend him to any rider, trainer, or horse enthusiast.

I highly recommend Dennis and Bright Ranch for horseback riding! My 10 year old son begged for us to get him lessons for almost a year. I found the Bright Ranch and explained exactly what kind of experience we were looking for. After the first lesson, my son gave Dennis the highest compliments and is looking forward to many days spent learning to ride and care for the horses. We are very happy to have found such a great program!

I have never done any horseback riding before so I was a little nervous to start but after meeting with Susan for the first time and being introduced to the horses and having a tour of the property I felt very comfortable to begin my lessons. After my first lesson I was hooked. Susan is an amazing instructor. She is very informative, patient, and her passion for horses and teaching is highly expressed. She is also super fun to be around and very down to earth. I am currently on my fifth lesson and I am handling the horse better than I've ever excepted. I have fallen so in love with horses and learning how to ride I eventually will like to compete. The Triton Property is also very beautiful. There is plenty of space to ride and learn. This has truly been a very therapeutic and wonderful experience and I can't wait for my next lesson!

I've worked with a number of riding instructors over the years but never one that works so incredibly hard for every student. Emily has great skill for evaluating each horse and each rider and adjusting every lesson to fit that day & that moment in time. She is enthusastic & encouraging. You will leave each lesson with great tools & more knowledge and understanding of your horse and of riding then with most riding instructors. Emily works to create independent riders who can continue their training during practice rides and feel confident to do so. If you don't quite have that confidence yet, she will get you there. Under Emily's watchful eye I have grown so much as a rider and my horse is happier and more fit then ever before.

We had gone to several barns/ranches trying to find a good fit for my 9 year old daughter. Jessica has been by far the best fit in terms of teaching about the basics of horse care, basic horse riding, and now training for shows. She is able to balance just the right amount of demands for my daughter to achieve success and mixing in praise where needed. My daughter's love of horses and riding has grown tremendously. As an added benefit my daughter general confidence in life has grown along the way. We owe a special thanks to Jessica.

I started riding as an adult and looked for a program that encouraged the horse experience from the ground up. The trainers at Skye Valley Training gave me a strong foundation for my horse journey by helping me get to know how to properly care for a horse, learn how to ride it and appreciate horsemanship and the joyful relationship that comes with spending time on a horse. Ten years later I am riding on my own special equine partner and spending amazing times with my kids who are also riding and eventing throughout Northern California. Watching my kids grow and learn empathy and compassion as well as responsibility for their horse has been such a wonderful experience. All of us have acquire poise and confidence during our horse journey and it has been so much fun to spend horse filled weekends camping with the horses, watching my kids compete as a team, not only with their horse but with the other eventers or dressage riders showing alongside us. I didn't know when I started on that first riding lesson ten years ago that it would become such a passion and fulfilling part of my family's life. Skye Valley Training gave us the foundation by providing quality lessons, strong mentorship, fantastic lesson horses and a great barn atmosphere and friendly clientele. Adults and children alike will get riding lessons suited to the absolute beginner or to more advanced riders. The trainers also have experience in working with young horses, training you and your horse to the next level and provide a varied and extensive training program if you have a horse. World class clinicians come to our barn on a regular basis and our home barn schooling shows offer all riders show experience at any level. Our barn is fantastic as well, offering miles of trails, 2 indoor and 2 outdoor arenas for year round riding. You will not be disappointed if you start your horse journey with Skye Valley Training!
