FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I really don't have a price quote yet. One thing I am planning to do is to have free diagnostics. Also I am planning to charge customers for the value of work I do for them. So I would say, it depends what the issue or project is and I will also negotiate that with user. I think it is the quality of work is what is important to users, not how much I charge hourly or what my price range is. Trust me, I have done this before many times on my own and I got more money than what I expected.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Not at this moment. I already have my A+ and every year, I have to update my OEM certifications which are DELL, HP, LENOVO & TOSHIBA. I always study about new technology when a product comes to market and keep myself updated.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
In 1992, I got hired in Fry's electronics as a System Integrator and that's when I got interested in working with computers. I started at FRY'S electronics in 1992 when people use to put systems together and configure all the parts to work with each other. There were no plug and play in that time, so I learned it the hard way. Even a simple memory upgrade, needed jumper configuration settings. The challenge of it, made me get into this field and as the time went by, I got my A+ certification along with my OEM Certs(HP, LENOVO, DELL & TOSHIBA). I still work on everything besides those.
