FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am constantly taking classes, reading books, and searching the web to learn about the latest techniques, gathering even more ideas and embroidery patterns.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I first started sewing when I became pregnant with my first child 25 years ago. I made the entire baby's room from the curtains to the crib linens. I still have the Care Bear quilt (tattered and worn). With him on my lap I began to sew for others and loved it. We really needed the income and I could stay home with the baby. I just more recently began teaching on my new machines and love it.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
My most common jobs are alterations or repairs of wedding dresses, bridesmaids dresses, suits, skirts, dresses, pants, hems, making custom costumes, creating custom memory quilts from your T-shirts, sweatshirts, bandannas, pennants, patches, pictures, jerseys etc. I also make or finish quilts and baby blankets.
