I specialize in weddings and family portrait sessions. I started Sarah Luther Photography out of a passion for capturing love and emotion through photography. I get excited about photographing each wedding as if it were my own. My family jokes about how they expected to see me walking down the aisle at my own wedding carrying a camera. My husband, also a photographer, is often my second shooter. We're not only your photographers, we're your storytellers and friends. When we work together, it's not just about the photographs, it’s about the experience. I want you to enjoy the process at every stage. I want to learn about your story and get to know you as a couple. I will get a sense of your personal style and understand what’s important to you so I can capture every detail. On the day, I want you to trust me to do what I do best, so that you can be yourself, relax and enjoy every moment. Pure emotions, the spontaneous and the scripted—I’ll document it all. *All of my wedding and portrait packages come with an online gallery where you can share and download all of your edited, high resolution images. I do not put a cap on delivered images, meaning I will give you all the images that look great from your session. Some wedding packages and portraits come with a photo credit for purchasing high quality prints.

I chose Sarah to photograph my wedding based on her portfolio full of gorgeous candid shots and creative detail shots. I hate posing for photos, plus I worked so hard on all the decor for the event and knew she'd appreciate that based on her style. So I figured she'd be perfect. Once I started communicating with her, it all fell into place. She is so personable and authentic--she really related to our vision and seemed to know right away what we needed. At the same time, she had a thorough intake process to find out exactly what we wanted, so there was no guesswork or mind-reading on her part. By the day of the wedding, she was one of the few things I was absolutely confident about. Sarah sometimes works as a team with her husband, and they both arrived on time dressed impeccably and ready to go. I was very busy before the ceremony and thankfully they didn't need any direction from me, they just started shooting and shooting, flitting around stealthily like ninjas. I barely saw them the entire night. There were a few posed group shots which my husband requested, and they were quick and reasonably painless. I was nervous about seeing the images afterwards, and thankfully we didn't have to wait long at all. Sarah had the website ready in only 9 days! And I was so incredibly thrilled with how the photos turned out. So creative, so thorough. The event was mostly in the evening in the winter so most of the photos had to be shot with the bizarre artificial lighting situations we had going on--house fluorescents plus colored LEDs. They managed to do a great job without using flash a lot and any blurring looked very creative and intentional. In the end, they managed to capture the entire story of the event from the very beginning almost to the very end in a lovely, cohesive timeline, exactly how I pictured it! It's so wonderful to look them over and it really takes me back to that magical day. The presentation package on the website is reasonably easy to use and lovely to look at. The hosting vendor also sells prints, so my guests can order whatever images they like for keepsakes. Overall Sarah and her husband are an excellent investment that you won't regret. I highly recommend her services.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
All of my wedding packages can be tailored to better meet you needs. I am also happy to work with you to come up with a custom package that meets your needs and budget!
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
1.) After your initial inquiry, I will respond back with a full investment guide. If we are a good fit, we will schedule a time to chat! 2.) During our chat we will discuss your needs and vision and get to know each other a bit. 3.) If you decide to move forward, you'll sign a contract to save your date with 25% of your grand total. 4.) You'll receive a photography questionnaire through email from me and we can discuss more in depth timeline planning with so we can get the party started and take the stress off of you! 5.) Within 72 hours you will receive a handful of "sneak peak" photos from your wedding. 6.) Within 6 to 8 weeks you will receive an email with a link to your private, online gallery with all of your wedding photos!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I studied at Santa Clara University (I received my BA and Masters of Arts degrees) and took photography classes, initially as electives, which I loved. I have taken photography and classes online, which I continue to do throughout the year. You can never learn enough and it's important to always be open to learning new skills to perfect your craft.
