Trusty Craftsman is committed to bringing the best handymen, IT professionals, and project design experts to our clients. Our goal is to bring together an ethical and professional workforce and provide high quality home solutions to clients. We serve homeowners, renters, students, the elderly, and Chicagoland residents. We stand out because I am motivated by people, the clients we serve, and getting to know their needs and situation drives me to deliver high quality solutions. This is the motivation behind Trusty Craftsman. I especially enjoy projects for first time home owners. This is a specialty of ours. Clients who are navigating the decision-making process for the first time when it comes to their home base. A home is an investment for future growth and opportunity, and our team likes to be known for investing in people’s future. I like to act as a copartner in their decision-making process, instead of an outside party, by getting to know my clients’ personal interests and lifestyle.
As a company, we are proud of our commitment to high quality service and diverse portfolio. Here are some examples of work we’ve done in 2017 that we are proud of: build a home server with high speed internet and a wide data storing capabilities to fuel a business owner’s productivity at home; build shelves and custom compartments for a Lincoln Park family looking to revamp their wine cellar space; prep an Evanston couple’s home before move in by working day and night to paint, install electrical appliances, and lay tile – all tasks that helped the family feel at home come move in day. Our ability to cater to a wide variety of needs sets us apart from others.
To be successful in this type of work requires a lot of resilience, knowledge, reliability, and focused hard work. While working on a project that seems to have a long lifeline – and many home improvement projects do if they are completed properly – tunnel vision is key, so you can narrow in on the task at hand with blinders on that enable you to reach the end of the task swiftly and move on to the next. Resilience is critical when faced with manual labor because each task requires a bit of sweat, so one must be able to bounce back after each accomplishment and move to the next. Finally, knowledge of a craftsman is what enables one to be successful in this business and what I thoroughly enjoy about the work we do. While a simple fix involves tape and a glue gun, a craftsman’s work involves research, consultation, and hands on experience with materials and creative projects.
