I am currently attending New York University (NYU) where I am majoring in Mandarin and Biology. I am also on the Pre-med track.
I love wrestling, math, Mandarin, and science. I have a pet chinchilla named Henry Junior and enjoy playing video games and using my camera during my spare time. I'm good with kids, and I'm also enrolled in after-school STEM programs.
I have 16 years of Chinese immersion education. Since the age of 2, I have been mastering the skill of speaking the language of Mandarin. I began my immersion journey at the International School of the Peninsula in Palo Alto where I learned how to speak, read, write, and perform in Chinese plays.
I went on two foreign exchange trips to Hangzhou, China, and Taichung in Taiwan. There I lived with host families, went to school with them, and enjoyed learning about their everyday life. My experience taught me that learning in a classroom is one lesson, but learning in the real world teaches you even more important skills.
My journey with learning math began at around age five, where I enjoyed learning about the fundamentals of time and the number of seconds in one year. I could not tell you why. Fast forward a few years, and I began taking courses at Russian School of Math and in school. I did 8 years of Russian math and took courses up until Calculus AB, and did the same at my high school.
I find math to be the most fundamental unit of our everyday lives, and that is exactly why we should understand it together.
I hope my story inspired you to learn math or Mandarin, and together we can begin our journeys.
希望我的故事启发了你愿意开始你自己的旅行。希望我能做你的导师!
