FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Personally, I don't believe in complicated pricing systems for marketing services. I prefer to keep things clear and simple... I bill by the specific project at hand. The first thing I do with a new client is discuss what they are trying to accomplish with their marketing efforts and how best to achieve those goals. Through initial discussions we zero in on a first-step project and determine exactly what that is going to entail. With that information, I can give the client a specific total-project cost that they can count on along with an estimated schedule. If they approve, we begin work. It's simple and clear, and clients seem to like that.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
With a new client, my number one focus is finding out where they stand in their market(s). I want to identify (and often I help them identify) what their root challenges are -- and where their biggest opportunities lie. I want to hear where they're headed and their strategies for getting there. That's the point at which I can help -- by contributing additional ideas, strategies and tactics that can add strength and efficiency to their marketing efforts -- because we've done it all hundreds of times before.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My B.A. is in English with an emphasis in writing and communications. And every day I work with clients who are engineers and scientists, so I've made it my business to know how to communicate with them clearly and effectively. I also spend hours every week staying abreast of the latest developments in my field, what's working and what's not. This is a critical part of my job and my ability to stay effective and competitive.
