FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Most jobs are not that complicated; I have a basic fee of between 30 and $ 50, unless it entails more specific and longer work. Charging exorbitant rates on PCs that aren't worth $100 makes it not worth it for them to even have it repaired at all.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I chat with them on the phone a bit then give them a ballpark estimate based on what they tell me. Often I will tell them this is the final price. I ask the unit be brought to my shop and typically repair it in 24 hrs. If a rush is needed I do my best. My fees on used units typically can be $50 and rarely exceed $80. Price is always cash and is payable when work is completed to satisfaction, upon pick up.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I had completed courses at Computer Learning Center and Computer Training Academy, with honors. See the certificates furnished here. I contributed more to the curriculum than the other way around. I find I do not refer back to some of these courses which are largely theory to help you pass the certification courses. My most robust experience has been "in the field", working on various computers on my own. google and youtube can be amazing resources on that (not so rare) occasion when you get "stumped".
