Introduction: I'm a digital photographer who's easing into the business. I am available for gigs in and around the San Francisco and East Bay area.
I do weddings, commitment ceremonies, birthday parties, anniversary banquets, retirement dinners, business and corporate events, bar mitzvahs, quinceaneras, holiday celebrations, baby showers, publicity shots, performances, commercial applications, talent and modeling portfolios, sporting events, or just everyday casual and formal portraits (pets are a specialty).
I capture the images, edit them, save them on a CD, and give them to you to print and use as you wish. The photos will also be available for free viewing on and free downloading from my website for the benefit of family and friends.
It's the perfect and affordable solution if you don't want to pay extra for negatives, prints, packages or albums. It's also ideal for smaller or limited-budget celebrations and informal occasions and gatherings.
My strength is having a good eye and an instinct for capturing those "special moments". I've been shooting parties and weddings as a hobby for family and friends for more than 20 years and professionally for over five years.
I make no pretenses; I offer nothing particularly fancy or unique, just genuine and appealing photos of nice people (and animals) in the moment. If my style had to be classified, I'd put it somewhere between "traditional" and "photojournalistic". Perhaps, we should simply call it "sincere", or maybe, we shouldn't call it anything, and allow the shots to speak for themselves.
In addition to doing work for individual clients, I've also covered events for organizations like the City of Oakland, the Alameda County Health Care Foundation, ODALC (Oakland Digital Arts and Literacy Center), EBALDC (East Bay Asian Local Development Corporation), OBDC (Oakland Business Development Corporation), and San Francisco's HIFY (Health Iniatives for Youth).
I use a Canon EOS 5D (a digital SLR), together with a 580EX external flash and a Sigma 24" 70mm f/2.8 lens, which is my primary lens, a Canon 50mm f/1.8 prime lens for general portraiture, and a Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 lens for more specialized work.
