I was a little hesitant to train with Geoff at first since he owns a martial arts gym & I wasn't that interested in the sport. I saw an image in my head & wondered what training with him would be like. In my head I saw a scene from the karate kid & didn't think he'd give me the kind of workout I was looking for. I am SO glad I decided to ignore my initial hesitation & try things out. The workouts we do change every time & I'm constantly challenged & out of breath. He incorporates a boot camp style approach with weights, lunges, running & several surprises that will keep you guessing walking into each session. Geoff will push you but be right there with you, encouraging you the entire way. I came home from the first workout so sore & spent & was instantly addicted. My sister listened to me detail the session & signed herself up to train with Geoff the next day. My body is already transforming & my endurance is increasing. I won't be giving up my training time slot with Geoff anytime soon.

Mehran is an excellent teacher, one of the best I have studied from in 20 years of learning Uechi-ryu Karate around the world. He has more than 30 years experience teaching in the Bay Area. He's patient with students of all ages, and he has a good sense of humor that helps keep students focused on learning.

Sensei Sanjit Mandal is well schooled in traditional Goju Ryu Karate-do, and is also involved in sport karate-do through the U.S. Olympic Committee's National Governing Body (USA Karate). If you wish to train in traditional karate-do, sport karate-do, or both you will find that his instruction is right for you or your children.

I teach basic self-defense as well as basic fundamentals of karate and a bit of sparring techniques.

Having lived in Japan for 8 years does not make me a better instructor, in and of itself. Nor does having been a tournament champion. 35+ years doing Karate and several years doing other martial arts helps my level of understanding. Having a deeper technical knowledge than almost anyone else outside of Japan helps as well. But what really sets me apart is the passion that I have, not only for Karate-do as a way of life, but for teaching it in a way that helps students progress as quickly as they are capable of. I help other people improve their lives. What could be better than that?

We are affiliated with the Renshinkan Shorinji Ryu Karate Do organization (headquarters in Kagoshima, Japan). The chief instructor, Takamori Kaida, has over 25 years of experience in Japanese Karate in the bay area. Out lessons include traditional training as well as self-defense. Japanese karate is not for everyone, but it provides a healthy, structured method in training the mind and body. For any further questions and info, please reach out to us! Thank you for reading!

I'm hoping to continue to learn and grow along with my students. I recognize that we're all students, some of us have just been training for a little longer. You can learn something from everyone, and I hope to learn from you while teaching you something new. There's always more to learn - you're never "done."
