Cal was a wonderful officiant and I would recommend him to anyone! He was knowledgeable about several ways to go about planning a ceremony, he was an extremely attentive and respectful listener with regard to what we wanted for our ceremony, he was extremely thoughtful in his words about us and he is funny! Our guests got a couple good laughs at the ceremony but they were all very sweet jokes - he knows how to balance sincerity and fun. Cal poured his full attention into creating our ceremony and he really achieved everything that we wanted. He ended up giving a message that was heartfelt and poignant with amazing advice for us as we embark on marriage. He is flexible and can mold to whatever vibe you would like. He can help you make the ceremony as religious or as secular as you like. Not to mention, he's a great resource in coming up with great readings, quotes and poems to spice up your ceremony if you'd like a family member to read something (that's what we did).
Most of all, he puts you first. He has no agenda other than to help make your wedding ceremony meaningful for you! I would recommend him to anyone in a heartbeat!!

We, like many other couples these days, wanted a personalized ceremony that was our own blend of traditional and new-age elements. Neither my wife or I are deeply religious people but still wanted some elements of spirituality and religion in our ceremony. Cal was able to provide such well thought out words, concepts, and ideals that allowed my wife, me, and our guests to reflect on the importance of marriage, life-long commitment, and a strong partnership/friendship. If you are a couple looking for an officiant for your beautiful central coast wedding I encourage you to meet with Cal. He is so flexible, experienced, and has a plethora of suitable readings, quotes, and poems that will make every ceremony unique.
Lastly Cal is so comfortable in front of people and is such an amazing and eloquent public speaker! We got so many compliments on our ceremony and it was no doubt in large part due to the experience and professionalism that Cal brings.

Cal officiated our wedding and did a fantastic job! He was a calming presence on what can be a chaotic day. His grace and experience was evident when something didn't go exactly according to plan.
I was involved in two other weddings he officiated before mine and knew he was the person I wanted to marry my wife and I. We couldn't have made a better choice.

Although it's been over 20 years since our wedding, I can remember Cal's beautiful contribution to it so vividly. He was filled with joy, humor, warmth, professionalism and guidance. Everything you need/want from someone who is officiating your wedding. He did not underwhelm at the alter, yet he did not over-perform either (if you've been to enough weddings you know what I mean). You could simply tell he was happy to be a part of our day, and he did what he could to make it special...make it memorable. Just makes me smile thinking about it.

My wife and I can't express enough how grateful we are for the wonderful ceremony performed by Cal. There was laughter, tears, and an overall great feeling that day. I get nervous in front of crowds, however I felt very much at ease during the ceremony.
In terms of the planning we had a great time getting together at Starbucks and planning the event. Cal did a great job of listening to our often ambiguous and disjointed ideas. He offered advice from his experience that helped us realize what it was that we wanted without imposing or pushing things one way or another. Where we wanted things a certain way he incorporated it seamlessly with the rest of the ceremony.
Overall, I would highly recommend choosing Cal for your special day.
