FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing is always complicated. I try to simplify it by giving the client a choice. For contract work, I'm hourly and for freelance work, I'm usually by the project. I find that clients enjoy knowing their final cost before the work is started. I also take a 50% deposit up front, so we're half way there.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Logos and corporate identity, brochures, sales and marketing collateral, data sheets, advertisements, postcards, direct mail, real estate marketing material, flyers, posters, annual reports, newsletters, stationery packages, trade show materials, catalogs, packaging, presentation folders, digital photography/photo retouching, photo shoot and print management.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I think one of the most important things to consider is to build a long-term relationship with your graphic designer. You want your designer to be able to get into your head and read your mind, so to speak. Once your designer has learned who you are and what you like, then you have a designer for life. It's a great feeling to have clients from 20 years ago and we still have a great connection and now friendship.
