Half the battle is finding a contractor who really knows what they’re doing, can get to you quickly and bonus points if they don’t empty your wallet. Tropical Heating and Air is the total package.
When I moved into my new home in July of this year, on the first night I found out my shower didn’t give any hot water! I immediately called Tropical Heating and Air. Technician Moonie came out within a few hours. He diagnosed the problem with my hot water heater and had the tools and knowledge to resolve it quickly and safely.
Fast-forward to the beginning of November, when the weather changed and it got so cold. I turned on my home heater for the first time and it only blew cool air. I immediately called Tropical and again they responded quickly. They came out. Found and fixed the problem and now I’m nice and warm. They are the company I know I can trust with my heating and cooling needs.

Provided no value to solving the hot water heater issue. The positive part - the tech was very friendly, and they were up front about the costs. However, the value of work that was actually performed was not aligned with the cost, so essentially I feel it was a rip-off. All the tech did was repeat steps I had already taken and ran into the same roadblock that I did. I hired them expecting the expertise to get further into finding the issue than I did, and while at it perform some of the maintenance on the water heater - including cleaning the ignitor which is the most likely cause of the issue I am having. All the tech did was talk an awful lot (was super friendly, but I'm paying him to work, not to stand and chat about a bunch of other stuff), remove a total of four screws, remove one sensor, and then put the sensor and four screws back together. It was an agreed upon price ahead of time, so I can't fault them there, but for how little work the tech actually did, the right thing they should have done is reduce the cost to be aligned with the value. I would not use them again not recommend them - there is no value they provided....and I still am left with the same hot water heater issue.
