My son has been taking drum lessons with Chris for over two years. He really loves it. I don't have to beg him to practice, he always does it on his own. Chris always is fun and so positive with my son. He is a really great role model for young kids. You can tell he really loves to teach. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

My son loves his drum lessons with Chris. We moved to Orange County in January from Seattle. My son loved his drum teacher there, so we knew it would be difficult finding someone my son connected with. We went in for a trial lesson about a month ago and have since taken about 3 lessons and my son absolutely loves it. We are so happy we found Chris at the Dynamic Drum School and definitely recommend him to anyone looking for an excellent teacher.

My son loves his drum lessons with Chris. We find that Chris is very patient and inspires our son a lot to practice. Our son took piano lessons for years, but he never loved it or practiced that much. Now we don't have to say anything and our son is practicing so much. We highly recommend taking drum lessons from Chris at the Dynamic Drum School.

I used to be a working drummer, but had a couple kids and had to stop drumming for over 10 years. Now the kids are getting older and I wanted to get back into it. I was looking for a teacher that had a lot of experience with jazz drumming and also other styles. Chris studied with three of my favorite drummers; Joe Morello, John Riley and Alan Dawson. It is a little frustrating getting back into drumming. I can't play things that I used to be able to. Chris has amazing patience and he keeps me focused and positive in the process. His knowledge about jazz drumming is really great and I am glad I found him.

FAQs

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I Attended the New England Conservatory of Music and Purchase College of Music, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in music. I continue to practice everyday, studying new styles of music and beats from different cultures. My students always keep me on my toes. One day, I might be teaching a student a jazz solo or comping ideas from Max Roach or Billy Higgins, a death metal song, a Beatles, Rush, or Rolling Stones classic, a new rhythm from Cuba or Brazil, or a new pop or hip hop song from One Direction or Jay-Z. It is great to teach someone a song that they love and want to learn, and it helps me grow as a musician and teacher.

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

When I was in college at the New England Conservatory I had a great opportunity to teach at the preparatory school. I was fortunate to work with several graduate students as a freshman in a grogram that taught and worked with high school students. I learned so much from the experience and realized how much I love to teach and help other musicians learn the wonderful craft of drumming.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

I offer drum lessons with three different options. 1. Lessons in my studio in Santa Ana. 2. Lessons in your home. 3. Lessons via Skype.
