During this COVID-19 crisis, I reached out to get an estimate on delivering a refrigerator that we were donating to a recently homeless single mom with three kids. They had no way of storing food. Rigo responded immediately with an estimate that came in $150 less than any competitors! I believe it was his response to community need. When Hector and Andrew arrived they were pleasant, efficient, professional, and grateful to be working. I promised to follow the guidelines of social distancing (and inform the receiving family to honor those guidelines as well). I also gave the guys a brief warning because I wasn't sure in what condition we were going to find the property or family. Well, we arrived and the job became more difficult as the refrigerator did not fit through the door. Without skipping a beat, both men got the necessary tools, kept hard at work and took care of the job. They were so friendly and kind. I never saw a look of judgement or revulsion regarding the setting they were in for that moment. What great humans! They may have 'just been delivering a refrigerator', but they brought dignity and joy to a beautiful family that needs the kindness of community. Thank you Rigo, Hector, and Andrew. After you left, the family got in a big circle and started jumping up and down, laughing, and screaming about the refrigerator! It was lovely to witness!
