When you are looking for a dog trainer, make sure that the trainer you hire uses dog-friendly training methods. Ask if the trainer has any education or certifications in the dog training field. If possible visit a class or ask if you can observe the trainer working with a dog so that you get a feel for how the trainer might work with you and your dog.
