We asked him and him to take a family portrait of 8 people, including a rambunctious 3-year-old and an independent dog. He did a great job with a necessary amount of good humor.Nov 19, 2019Verified
Doug did a great job organizing the time and place for my couple pictures. He also sent information in advance to help us come prepared the day of the shoot. During the photo shoot, my fiancé and I felt very comfortable and relaxed around Doug. He was patient and made sure no one else was in the frames. Overall, we felt that the experience we had was worth the amount we paid and are very excited to see the finished product!Oct 12, 2017Verified
Doug was super easy to work with. Accommodating, patient & took awesome photos of my family. He wasn't rushing through the session. My husband, who is a tough critic liked him. Will use him again & have already recommended him.Aug 21, 2016VerifiedDoug Ellis Photography's reply
Thanks Megan, so so appreciate you and the love you show and share with your family. No way I would want to rush through your sweet vibe! Your husband was great and I was so glad we got up early to get those beach images before too many people got there. I look forward to a sequel this summer...(: Doug E
The experience was great from start to finish. We met downtown, and simply walked around while Doug took pictures. Easy and casual. It's clear he has been doing this for many years, and is good at it. I highly recommend Doug. Great photographer and an overall good guy!Dec 28, 2019Verified

Doug Ellis is a consumate professional. First and foremost, his photography is beautiful. His responsiveness, promptness, creativity, artistic eye and technical expertise take his service to the next level. He over-delivered for my corporate event, made me look good just for having hired him.Jun 27, 2019VerifiedDoug Ellis Photography's reply
Thanks Susan, I look forward to working with you and your nonprofit again next year. I could feel the love and care you have all invested in its mission and it came through in the photos.
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I make it super simple. Business portraits and family portraits both have a flat session fee that includes retouching. It is based on how many different "looks" you want to do and there are no surprises.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I typically call and coach my clients through a pre-session discovery form, give them a fashion/style guide and posing tips and sometimes help coordinate hair and makeup through my favorite makeup team. We also set an intention and do some stretching/energy practices to get the good juju flowing before the session!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?Yes, I do workshops all the time--including leading them-- and am continually practicing and refining my craft and widening my own consciousness/inner aperture.
