Hi my name is Perry Van Soest. I have been living in Santa Barbara working on my family's avocado orchard for the past 3 years, before that I had working for my step-father's painting company in Manhattan Beach since I was a teenager. While I am most experienced in painting and everything associated with that trade, my other skills involve plumbing, drywall repair, mounting tv's, hanging pictures, basic carpentry, demolition, basic electrical, junk removal, pressure washing, driveway resealing, landscaping, small machine maintenance, RV maintenance, furniture assembly and repair, and I own a wide variety of tools.

my rate is based on my skillset and expenses to maintain my tools and truck in good working condition. I almost always work for time and materials.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
a consultation at the location where the work will be taking place so I can properly estimate the time that will be needed to complete the work. As well as assess if any additional material or specialty tool(s) will need to be purchased.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
my stepfather is a painting contractor in Manhattan Beach, CA. I started working for him when I was 14. I have picked up additional skills while working alongside additional trades and doing side projects.
