Introduction: Learning yoga with me will be simple and effective. With warmness and patience, I teach techniques that are rooted in clinical research and I make sure that our session addresses you and your needs specifically. Stress being a leading cause of many diseases and disorders today, the stress management techniques you will learn can do more than reduce general anxiety, but also help you heal from injuries and conditions that have been caused or exacerbated by stress. Because the yoga I teach is holistic, it is not only an exercise to tone the body, an equal emphasis is put on the emotional and intellectual facets of yoga. Stress begins in the mind, but we will work to relieve and prevent stress starting on the physical level using breath and movement. From here, we are able to begin addressing the more subtle levels via progressive relaxation, imagery, cognitive reframing, and meditation. Whether you’ve been a yoga practitioner for years and want to work more deeply into your psyche with personalized sessions, or whether the word “yoga” makes you nervous but you’re willing to try anything to help with your chronic pain, the approach I take with yoga is accessible and can bring you the results you’re looking for.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Sierra. She has been my yoga teacher for several years, and over that time my mental and physical health have increased exponentially. She is knowledgeable, patient, and thorough, and excels at working with people of any experience level, as I learned while progressing. She is warm and friendly--a joy to work with--which are necessities with stress management yoga. In addition to stress management, Sierra has helped me manage severe knee pain through more traditional yoga practices, and has always been able to make adjustments to routines and to my form to make sure that I was getting the most out of the process. I simply can't recommend her highly enough.

Sierra is an awesome yoga instructor. She was able to customize my yoga to fit my level of fitness. I have hip issues and she helped me find just the right positions to stretch and strengthen my hip and core. Because she is trained in India I believe she has a better and deeper understanding of what yoga really is, instead of the traditional western yoga exercise.
