Stevens Creativity Imagination Leadership Training

Introduction: We offer professional development for all teachers of pre-K-12, including arts specialists and artist-teachers. We teach all art disciplines and integration into other curricular areas for classroom teachers not formally trained in the arts, as well as for arts specialists. We link arts training and information about brain development to higher-order thinking, social, and emotional skills -- creativity, imagination, empathy, emotional regulation, critical thinking, and lifelong learning. We provide a framework that works with common core standards, state standards in all areas and use of technology, as well as with the particular teacher, grade level and school. We put a special focus on "at-risk" youth, foster children, and others that may be entering the classroom with early or current trauma, and how this affects learning and classroom management. We offer an academic mentoring training program for volunteer mentors to support school staff and parents - this is a school-based mentoring for academic achievement. Teachers love these as practical tools for teachers' creativity and ability to integrate current research with their own professional intuition and training.
