About
Lukasz Yoder is widely regarded as one of the top piano teachers in the Los Angeles area. He holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Piano Performance, awarded on full scholarship from the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music, where he studied under renowned pianist and Chair of the Piano Department, Professor Inna Faliks.
Other major influences include the legendary American pianist Garrick Ohlsson and his mother, acclaimed pedagogue Roza Yoder, who was instrumental in shaping his early musical foundation.
Born into a musical family, Lukasz began playing the piano at age four. He has since performed in concerts around the world and is a prizewinner of numerous international piano competitions and awards.
As a teacher, Lukasz takes an individualized and intuitive approach, tailoring each lesson to meet the unique goals, backgrounds, and learning styles of his students — ranging in age from 4 to 85. His ultimate aim is to cultivate a lifelong love and appreciation for music in every student.
He offers private lessons both in-home and at his hillside studio, where students have access to a wide variety of instruments, including three grand pianos — two of them Steinways, one of which is a 9-foot concert grand.

Lukasz is a wonderful piano teacher! His enthusiasm and passion are contagious! He really helps me understand the pieces I am learning and gives me the techniques and skills to improve. He is extremely knowledgeable and patient. I couldn’t ask for a better piano teacher. I highly recommend Lukasz!

During communications, Lukasz seemed like a good match -- willing and enthusiastic. However, I was disappointed that he arrived 20 minutes late for our introduction and first session and was dressed very poorly in soiled sweat pants and flip flops. Doesn't seem professional & respectful. Not a good match for me.

Lukasz Yoder Piano Studio's reply
I apologize for the delay due to LA traffic, I value my students’ time.
Regarding the comment about attire, in over ten years of teaching I’ve never had a concern raised about my appearance. My lessons are intentionally relaxed and focused on student progress rather than a formal dress code.
I chose not to continue lessons because I maintain clear standards for respectful communication in my studio, and it became evident our expectations differed. I wish you the best in finding an instructor who suits your preferences.

I love Lukasz's way of teaching. I started as an adult beginner, not knowing any notes or anything. Lukasz's classes are fully customized to your ability and preference. He strikes a great balance between theory and practice. He's incredibly knowledgeable and, of course, a very talented pianist. I take weekly classes with him and really enjoy the progress. I can highly recommend him!

Lukasz fosters a lifelong love of music in addition to teaching superb skills. He is a knowledgeable, passionate, and engaging teacher. His communication style is professional, enjoyable, and kind, but he is also very responsive. I am grateful that you helped my kid grow to appreciate his newfound passion for classical music.
