FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Our pricing is based on the project scope, complexity, and permitting requirements. We typically offer fixed fees for clearly defined scopes and time-based services when the scope is variable or when dealing with unknowns (like violations, unpermitted work). Fees cover professional services only and do not include jurisdiction fees, consultant reports, or construction costs. County or city plan check comments, revisions beyond the agreed scope, and additional coordination may be billed separately. We focus on clear proposals, defined deliverables, and no surprises, so clients understand exactly what is included before work begins.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Depending on the type of project, we may ask several questions at the beginning. This helps us understand your goals, your property, and the current status of the project. It is very common for clients to initially request a specific service and then realize, through this process, that a different or expanded service is actually needed. Because every client has a different level of experience with construction, permitting, and development, we often take an educational approach. We focus on understanding what you want to accomplish, reviewing where the project currently stands, identifying what is required to move forward, and outlining a clear path to success. Our ultimate goal is to help you obtain the necessary permits and move your project forward.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Our team includes licensed Architects, Civil Engineers, Structural Designers, and Land Surveyors. We are formally educated, licensed, and trained in our respective disciplines, and we regularly work together to deliver coordinated, permit-ready projects. Our experience spans residential, commercial, and public-sector work, with ongoing training to stay current with California building codes, local jurisdiction requirements, and industry standards.
