FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I prefer to work by the job for clear tasks due to driving time, communication time and other costs associated with doing business. Hourly is preferred with tasks are not clearly defined or when the time frame is too hard to nail down. I give discounts to retired folks and I'm willing to go the extra mile. I do require a 1 hour minimum for small jobs.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I usually ask a lot of questions, point out options and potential problems that may come up. I always hate hearing after work has started that there was a problem and it took more time and therefore money. I try to work within budgets and offer options to work within the budget.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
My dad was a painting and decorating contractor. I grew up painting houses and learned how to repair drywall and texture. I started painting houses by myself for my dad when I was in high school. I also worked some construction jobs through high school and college.
