- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge a flat rate of $2.50 / sq ft. That covers everything including 1 undercoat, 2 finishing coats, prep and cleanup of everything. There is also variables depending on the specifications of the project. It can be less or even more. For example, a customer had plate sized holes in the walls and needed to be patched up. That will cost more money than a customer who is doing a paint job with little to no damage on the walls.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I tend to give a rough estimate based on the square feet of the area being painted. After, I will ask the customer questions about the project. Depending on those I will be able to write a proposal with the final bid, a breakdown of the pricing, a description of the job, and a place for you to sign if you accept the proposal.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I’m a fourth generation painter so I have the knowledge from all of the fathers. I’ve been working with my dad for 12 years. I’ve been running my own crews and doing my own jobs ever since I turned 16. I can say I know a lot of things that other painters might not.
