FIVE STARS! Beth is wonderful!! I have a 6 year old Yorkie that has separation anxiety and displays very disruptive behavior regularly. Beth came to my home and got right down to business. She was very knowledgeable and with her help my dog has made huge improvements in just a matter of weeks! Of course, training a dog takes time to make a full change, but just having the information she provided really helped me to know what to do and how consistently I have to do it. It also gives me peace of mind knowing if I have further questions, she is there to help me out! I highly recommend using Beth to help train your furry friends.

Paula has been such a wonderful trainer for our puppy who was full of anxiety and too much for us to handle. We needed professional help! Just a few weeks ago we started training and Izzy (puppy) was jumping, counter surfing, biting, and destroying property. She still has some of these behaviors but they are lessening and improving A LOT! Paula is incredibly knowledgeable, caring, and inspiring – as her business name implies. She always spends extra time with us and is happy to explain over and over again so we can understand what our dogs behavior. She truly speaks the dog language. Give her a try – you will be very happy with the results – we are!

Mel has given us an enormous amount of confidence in our daily training. Our dog is from a shelter, and he came with leash reactivity. He quickly feels overwhelmed and anxious on a leash, and his deep bark and 40 pounds have caused a lot of people to either get upset with us for having him or offer tons of advice about "prong collars" and "teaching him who's dominant". We were starting to feel like we were terrible parents! Mel reassured us that our dog is well-adjusted and capable of conquering his fears. We've been using the positive reinforcement training these past 3 weeks and are happy to say that we have seen a positive change! We are better able to recognize his needs and respond appropriately thanks to the patient training by Mel. We will have work to do for a few more months yet, but we feel much more confident about taking it on!

I bought a dog (german shepherd puppy) from Kris a couple years ago for sport work. He set me up with training and my dog is THE best trained dog I have ever owned. She has a balanced and stable temperament on top of fantastic obedience and protection. I am so incredibly happy with her and Kris is extremely knowledgeable in dog behavior and dog training of all aspects. I recommend Taylor made Working Dogs for any source of dog training or buying.

I hired Mike to help train me and my dog to be able to pass the required tests to become a Therapy team. I loved working with him...Mike makes the training not seem like work but instead fun. Emma (my dog) and I are truly thankful for the wonderful work he did with us. We are enjoying our therapy work as a team :)

I've been working with Heidi for awhile now. When I first started, my dog had a lot of issues with other dogs. He was very reactive and afraid of them and we couldn't even go for a walk outside the house without it being a nightmare. It's been about a month, and my dog walks like a gentleman now, right next to me. Heidi has been working with me on desensitization. We do lots of treats every time we see another dog, from a far distance, and my dog no longer fears them. The distance is slowly decreasing. I like that Heidi is affordable. Her rate is much lower than other trainers I have worked with, and the results are better. I had almost given up on training my dog, Brutus, when a friend referred me to Heidi. I like that she doesn't use choke chains or pinch collars. I've had trainers tell me these were the only options for my dog and she has proven to me that they aren't. She explained to me right away why these methods don't work, the psychology behind it, and that they are better options that may take longer but won't make my dog go back to old habits because this way we are treating the emotions behind the behavior, and the cause, not just the symptoms (the barking and reactivity). I will be continuing to work with her and referring her to friends for years to come. Thank you! Also, I'm not sure why the bad review but that doesn't sound like Heidi at all. I have friends who are working with her as well, and her fees are explained very clearly on her website, in her contract, and in person. She charges $80 per session when they are paid for individually, and $65 per session when they are paid for in groups of 3. I buy in groups of 3 so training is costing me about $200 a month! And that rate is about half of what most of the local trainers in San Diego charge. Of the previous trainers I worked with, one charged me $125 per session to stick a prong collar on my dog and gave no actual training. And it made my dog worse. The other charge me $100 per session and told me that my dog would need a behaviorist and referred me to someone who was charging $3000 for boarding camp. So at $65 a session I couldn't ask for a better deal compared to what is out there.

Excellent experience. Had no idea training a dog could be like this. It's like we're starting over with our dog and this time we know what we're doing!

Kim Yuskiewicz has trained both me and my lovely Shanti girl for several years. We both love her and have learned a lot about dog behavior. Kim is not only very knowledgeable - she is also compassionate, kind and treats dogs and humans with great respect. With her gentle and loving training, both Shanti and I would highly recommend Kim.

Brian trained my dog Bella. I hired him for 3 training sessions and the amount he taught her in just three sessions was awesome. Probably more important than training her, he trained me how to work with her and re-enforce what he taught her. Bella really seemed to like Brian (possibly partly because he always has treats with him!) and she really positively responded to his instruction. He does seem to have an immediate connection to dogs. The training was very interactive and he made sure to address any problems I was having with Bella and offered very practical solutions. I would definitely recommend him if you are looking for someone to train your dog.

Hot Dog On A Leash offers full-service care and training for your precious pets. Who better to watch your pets while on vacation than your dog trainer or doggie daycare provider? We even offer behavior modification. If your pet has issues, Hot Dog On A Leash will correct it while you are away, and then show you how we did it. See Reviews below 11/14/2013 I have a Jack Russell and he was very hyper and was hard to control. Had to have him on a leash and he always wanted to fight big dogs. After using Hot Dog on a Leash, my dog no longer uses a leash. He comes back to me when called. No longer is he aggressive towards big dogs. I was Wowed by the change and would recommend this company anytime. They are very nice and experienced more than any other trainer I have ever seen. 11/14/2013 We have to recommend Hot Dog On A Leash for dog owners who are looking for training. We have found both Randy and Heather to be dog lovers who are excellent trainers, reliable, professional and genuinely interested in helping their clients. Their rates are very reasonable and we really like that the training takes place one on one in real life places where there are lots of other dogs and people. Our rescue dog, Suri, has completed the basic obedience course and is now beginning the intermediate course.
