Daniel de Waal fixed my problem just by looking at the photos I sent him. He knows what he is doing and is honest. The other guys were going to come over and charge for an estimate for a problem that I could handle myself after all. I thought my pool problem was going to be expensive because I had problems for a long time, but not so. I’m going to call on Daniel again next time. Thanks, Daniel!

I found Daniel de Waal here on Thumbtack, and have been using his weekly pool/spa cleaning service for just over one year now. He also periodically services the pool components (filter, pump, heater).
He is i credibly responsive, very knowledgable, and ALWAYS willing to help.
Once, I couldn’t get my pool temperature up just before I was set to host guests. He was my first call simply because my pool builder is completely unreliable and unresponsive. Daniel immediately returned my call, facetimed with me to troubleshoot, AND he contacted the equipment rep for my area on my behalf to explain it— totally sheperdi g the process through. NONE of this was his responsibility or fault, but he had the knowledge and willingness to help.
He has always promptly answered my questions and addressed my concerns— as a new pool owner without experience or knowledge about this stuff, I can’t tell you how nice it is to feel I have someone reliable and trustworthy to help me when needed.

If I could give Daniel 100 stars I would. Our regular pool service guy is on vacation and Daniel with a phone call and looking at pictures of her pool equipment solved the problem. He charged me nothing for his time. If you were in search of somebody who is a professional, this is the person. If for whatever reason our regular pool service decides to retire Waal pool service will be my hire. Thank you thank you thank you, Daniel!
Waal jumped on my request and contacted me in < 30 minutes. Sent a tech to inspect my problem < 24 hours later. I strongly recommend these guys

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing reflects very comprehensive care. We don’t want to add ticky tack charges but instead want to be empowered to give the pool what it needs to be in top shape. A low price typically means a base fee with every pound, ounce, and drop of additives coming at a charge.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We want to find the reason why a homeowner is making a change. Lack of communication? Consistency? Shoddy work? Once we know what is important to the homeowner we want to highlight our approach that earns their trust. After a few weeks of rebalancing and proper service we want to show a homeowner the difference conscientious care makes.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Years of field installation experience and continuing yearly installation education courses offered directly by Pentair, Hayward, and Jandy. CPO certified and insured.
