I used this contractor to fix my deck (FRITZ)... Not only did he not fix my deck,, at the beginning of the project he stopped and complained about mold. Ok I thought, I'll call a few places to make sure it's safe to take down. ALL 3 mold companies said because it was outside, the contractor is ok to take it down and dispose of it. Well this guy made it impossible to even get him on the phone to come finish. He kept insisting that he wouldn't take it down?
Ok that's fine I thought, he has that right, but give me back my money if you don't want to do the job you were paid for!
I paid him $1000 in advance, (BIG MISTAKE)! He wouldn't return my calls and then when he finally did return my call he said for an extra $700-1K he would dispose of it? REALLY? More money?? What a scam!
Even after being told by all 3 companies that is was ok to remove?
I said NO way, I'm not paying you more. I want my money back!
He said no I started the work already and I used a lot of gas driving here? WHAT Gas> who pays a contractor for his gas? NO ONE!
Anyway,,, long story short,, we settled on $300 for the work he did complete which was taking down about 20-25 boards. It was less than 2 hours work ( I timed him), so the price was excessive in my mind, but ok I wanted to be fair, unlike he was! So I thought ok I can move on now that things are settled,,, well NO, this guy or his partner called building and safety on me and tried to say I was not pulling permits and doing unsafe work without a contractor to do the work?? ALL LIES!!
BEWARE OF FRITZ & JIM!
Believe me, you do not want to get involved with him or his partner Jim! They will cause problems for you when things don't go their way!
