FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Each medium takes a different amount of time. There are looser styles of painting (more "painterly" styles) and there are very labor intensive styles such as photo realism or textural, sculpted portraits. A photo realistic oil painting is going to cost 10 times more than a loose chalk drawing because that's the difference in time between the two mediums. I am very quick with colored pencils and chalks. A one subject 8 x 10 in colored pencil is $85.00 unframed. A one subject 8 x 10 acrylic painting is $130.00. I also do oil pastels and acrylic portraits, plus mixed media work. Textural paintings are a cross between sculpture and painting and take many hours of work to do them justice and I can't give a pat answer without seeing the subject matter.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm kind of a chameleon. I change my styles all the time to stay with the art trends, but I keep all my other styles also. I study new techniques and am always experimenting with new mediums.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I do a tremendous amount of pet portraits and memorial portraits and funerary portraits
