- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I generally charge by the hour for smaller jobs (3 day turnaround or less) and offer flat rates/set prices for larger jobs. Booking rate depends on the project specifications to be completed. The number of words, number of pages, work required, and requested completion dates are all considered when determining the booking rate. I try to accommodate smaller budgets within reason.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to talk with clients about their project needs, any requested completion dates, budget available (if any), and also look over the project document to come up with a customized proposal. If the client is in agreement with my proposal, an invoice is prepared, and 50% of the booking rate is required to move forward. Sample edits can be done on request. Booking fee deposit (50%) is non-refundable once I have also received your manuscript, as I immediately start working on your project at that time.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a degree in Computer Science from a well-known institution, along with formal academic training in Technical Writing and a Master's in Business Administration (MBA). I also have 13 years of professional experience with writing, editing, and proofreading corporate correspondence, newsletters, and white papers. In addition to my own experience with academic writing, I have 8 years of professional experience with reviewing and editing academic papers and essays for others.
