Be the Leader your Dog Loves, Trusts and Respects! I provide private lessons at your home. The first lesson is two to three hours long, designed to provide my clients and their dogs with the information needed to successfully work with their dogs. My clients are VERY happy just after their first lesson. The first lesson, we teach owner-Leadership, then teach the dog sit, stay, come, heel, then behavioral issues such as, jumping, barking, door rushing, aggression, etc. all at the first lesson. II provide on-going support to ensure my clients achieve their goals include the American Kennel Club, Canine Good Citizen, training and testing. Teaching owners how to have the best relationship possible with their dogs. I love what I do and my clients love the results!
Helping timid/aggressive and fearful dogs become more confident. Teaching in-home manners to dogs that are left outside due to behavioral issues. Seeing my clients happy with the results they see right away.

One session and I have a new dog!!!! Not sure who enjoyed it more, myself or my dog, but it was a fun experience for both of us and the change is unbelievable. Can't wait for the next lesson.....

Wendy is absolutely great!
We had hired Wendy for our then 12 weeks old Lab Mix Basil. Basil enjoyed performing his puppy bites on us frequently, and with his razor sharp puppy teeth, our underarms were very bloody quite often. We researched a lot on how to make him stop, but he wouldnt listen to No in this case, he wouldnt react to us letting out a puppy weep, nor was he impressed, if he got a timeout. It was, and still is extremely important to us to train our fur kid in a gentle, non-violent way.
After some research we came across Wendy. We liked the fact that she had a life time experience as a dog trainer, would enable us to train our dog in a gentle way, and also that she would come to our house for the training sessions.
This is important to understand: Wendy enables the dog owners to train their dogs properly, which in our opinion is the way it should be. In the very first session, she showed us how to make Basil stop, when he would get in his puppy bite mood. I must say, my wife and I were more than impressed on how great Wendys approach did work. It basically comes down to gentle, but firm correction of misbehavior and constant and active rewarding of good behavior by using voice and physical affection. (That is also a great thing we liked about Wendy she doesnt reward a dog with treats, but with voice and affection).
Thanks to Wendy, Basils puppy bites were under control after the first session and in the following sessions, we learned so much more on how to properly train our dog and make him listen to our commands, which at one point in time might save his life (for instance him chasing a rabbit and running towards a street...).
My wife and I are highly recommending Wendy! She is an outstanding and fantastic dog trainer with a wonderful personality. Both, dog and dog owner will benefit from her experience.

Wendy's knowledge and expertise was invaluable! We had babied our dog without realizing we were letting him run the house until it was too late. Our sweet dog, Cooper, was beginning to show signs of aggression which alarmed us. Wendy helped us realize that not being true leaders for Cooper was leading to anxiety for him and negative behaviors. The best part of the Wendy's guidance was her patience with us as we learned to trust the process. She talked us through it when we doubted the process or ourselves and it was all so worth it. You must put in the work after she leaves but the results are AMAZING after only the first lesson! We are going to hire her again for even more training out in the community because we are so thrilled with all she can help us accomplish! We highly recommend her!!! You won't be disappointed if you are willing to put into place all she teaches you.

Wendy did an awesome job!!! She not only trained the dog within the first visit, the dogs owner (our daughter) was trained as well. She turns out to be more difficult to train than the dog regarding his behavior!!!! Thanks Wendy!!!!

Wendy worked with my 5 year old dog who was always afraid of the leash and had her walking comfortably within 10 minutes. She gave us lots of great advice on working with our dogs. She is genuinely concerned with having happy, obedient family dogs.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
The per session price is by the hour. The first lesson is 3 hours long, so that I can provide you with the foundation for training your dog. This lesson is information packed and you will be able to successfully work with your dog after this lesson. Follow-up lessons are about an hour and scheduled about 2 weeks apart.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I began training dogs when I was just 12 years old. I achieved the obedience title of AKC Companion Dog Title when I was just 15, it was me and all adults in the classes. Come to find out most dog trainers have never achieved this title.. Little did I know I would be using this wonderful experience in my second career. I worked as the Marketing Director for VCA Animals Hospitals where I put together their Animals Shelter program. I visited over 80 animals shelters all over the country. Seeing the plight of these dogs, and knowing behavioral issues are sometimes to blame, In 2007 I became a dog behavior therapist and trainer to help people and their dogs so reduce the chances of abandonment and euthanasia. I have helped many people who initially called to say they were going to get rid of the dog or put it down -- now they and their dogs have a happy life together.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Holistic training methods. Teaching owners to teach their dogs thus creating a trusting bond with you dog. I help dog owners have a happy well-behaved companion animal. We deal with all behavioral issues and obedience training. I do not believe in using choke or pinch collars or anything physical AT ALL! Hands are for petting only.
