Introduction: GISTEK Networks is a 20+ year old tech company specializing in Simplified Internet Technologies. We fix the Internet at your home or business, WiFi, Cat6 or Coax cabling, Video surveillance systems and cameras. We do Smart Home Integration, custom data closets and work from home (WFH) and business network consulting. Recently we have built or fixed complete internet and WiFi networks for a San Diego ESPN studio, a mobile South Bay studio and the WiFi POS system for a T-Mobile store. Now Installing SpaceX Starlink in So Cal from San Diego, Laguna Beach, Palos Verdes, Hollywood, Palm Springs and rural areas. We do difficult high point eve mounts, exterior to interior penetration and seal and integration into your home or business network as primary or backup connection. See Starlink pictures in my profile. We've installed satellite and point to point wireless for over 20 years. We provide both commercial and home technology services regularly fixing or improving home Internet, cabling and WiFi. We have fixed the wiring in many new homes allowing them to connect WiFi at Max speeds without adding mesh or extenders. This is needed for Zoom or Netflix to avoid timeouts. It's inexpensive and may qualify under your new home warranty for reimbursement. We've also done several large homes with full home WiFi, also delivering max Wifi speeds up to 1Gb. We know the carriers and fix many connectivity issues daily. We are Covid-19 safe, 3x & quad vax'd and wear masks onsite as requested. We are also a mutually referred service to and from Best Buy. We will help you select replacement Audio or TV components and then install for you. We have a central rep, you pay Best Buy directly and pickup or ship to you from any store. Best of both worlds. Simplifying Remote Controls - We are senior friendly and patient in helping people transition to simplified controls for their TV and Audio needs. Ditch the Dish & TV boxes! Many people are still using Spectrum coax cable boxes for their TV or WiFi cubes. $5 month each. You don't need these either and you can cut your monthly cost by returning these devices. We can help you make the digital jump to Internet based TV services, the quality improves too. We have worked in new, remodeled and custom homes including vineyard and ranch homes doing extended gate cameras and outdoor WiFi coverage. We use plastic floor covering, booties and vacuum regularly! You'll see it in some pictures. GISTEK has installed several hundred TVs in hotels and homes, regularly moving power and hiding all cables, with many very large TVs installed indoors and in patios with competitive rates, especially for multi TV installs. 5 in a day is normal. Hiding cables - We regularly hide cables and add power behind TV's. To do this we usually have to cut drywall to run the cables and power. Sometimes more than one cut (4" x 4" drywall cut) is required. On completion, we reinstall the cut piece or install a blank plate. The drywall is patched and sanded smooth. Texturing and painting is not included in typical installs as most people are comfortable with this task. Texture and painting is not considered as part of the job. Audio is a passion, we love great sound and have completed many custom projects for homes, hotels, restaurant's and larger venues with mixed media input (Spotify, YouTube right from your phone,) as well as mic and PA Systems. We have a long track record of successful installs and performance upgrades. We carry a $2M liability policy and will provide additional named insureds for projects over $2k on request. We work regularly with Spectrum, Frontier, ATT & Comcast moving or updating their services. 10% Senior Discount No charge for site surveys prior to the job ($500 minimum,) and will do a free Zoom or FaceTime in advance to give you a prelim quote for OC, IE, SD, Riverside and South Bay-Long Beach areas. $75 survey charge for LA traffic but credited on contracting. We work regularly in LA Hollywood areas. I personally visit your home or job site prior to and during your project to insure the best service experience. Engaging us - we send you a quote, make adjustments to meet your needs and budget. When we're agreed, we invoice you, you pay half by credit card, Zelle or Venmo to lock down your install date, balance paid on completion. Acceptance Terms - We don't charge for site surveys and deal with SoCal traffic daily. Further due to traffic and other projects we might be on, it's difficult to lock down a specific appointment time and use 2-4 hour windows for surveys and installations. We try to be fair to all and it's necessary to disclose this to avoid dissatisfaction if we are tardy due to completing another project. our business is fluid and abstract, meaning we don't know how long it may take to resolve a technical issue or fix a bad cable (we didn't install, it happens regularly.) If we are running late we will text you (if we can ) don't be shy about calling. We do use it to call out as long as we have 3 bars or more. One more item, since we don't charge for surveys, it's not reviewable. Only paid services are reviewable. we only charge for paid projects. If you agree to work with us, these are our terms. We cover So Cal so we might cover 100 miles to reach you and if we can't make our window, we will contact you, as we don't want to inconvenience you. Avery Martinez, President GISTEK Networks, Inc.

I had the pleasure of working with Avery. He is extremely professional and dedicated to his craft. He responded within the hour of me searching for pros. He took the time out to walk me through multiple options for wiring my Ethernet port and we came to a decision together. He did not rush me and did an amazing job. His work was neat and clean. We had decided on a price before hand and he stuck to that agreement with no issue. All in all I am very satisfied with the job and would recommend GISTEK to everyone!

Avery did a fantastic job helping us choose and install wired security cameras around our home. We had Ethernet wiring throughout the house already, but the cables were disconnected (cut, and inoperable) and a giant mess. Avery repaired the Ethernet and upgraded the system to support 1gb speeds while he installed the cameras. It was extremely clear to us that Avery is an expert in this field. He’s very professional, does a great job, and we’d hire him again. Thank you!

Avery did a great job of installing a dream machine pro system. He put the time into finding existing wires, which made the work much easier than it could have been. Would recommend!

Prior to reaching out to Avery via Thumbtack, I had the misfortune of dealing with an "installation" guy from AT&T. I live in Corona in an area that invariably has bad internet service. I used Spectrum cable at first, and after realizing that their service was terrible, even though I was paying for the fastest "business" internet service, I opted for AT&T's fiber optic internet with 1 gb of download speed. We only have a 2100 sq foot home, but for some reason, the wifi only worked within a 30 ft range. With Spectrum the download speed was 9 Mbps and the connection speed (upload speed) was around 3 to 5 Mbps. According to Spectrum, I was suppose to have 200Mbps, and AT&T guaranteed me 1,000Mbps, but it was nearly the same as Spectrum. After the AT&T guy spent 6 hours working on our house he finally got it to work, but only to leave exposed wires and internet speeds that were no better than Spectrum. He then said that he would be back the following day to finish the job--he never came back. Good riddance! But before this individual left he suggested that we purchase a $1200 Orbi mesh extender at Best Buy. But something told me that this was not the way to go. We then started to look for electricians whom focused on networking and came across Avery. Avery was a professional through and through. When we reached out to him via Thumbtack, he replied with a set of questions for us to answer so that he could properly diagnose our problem, and after one or two efficient and concise messages, he gave us a call and came over that same evening. Once here, he suggested that we run CAT6 network cables throughout the house. He also suggested we put up two different access points on opposite ends of our house so that we could also have strong wifi. He did say, however, that since all the televisions were going to be hardwired, that it would not be necessary to use wifi, but since our children have iPads and we use our phones for streaming videos, we kept the wifi. He came a few days later with a crew of two additional men, which were a delight to work with. The men worked fast, and constantly cleaned up as they went along. The job took about 6 hours, but the results were well worth the wait! I now have download speeds as high as 900Mbps and upload speeds as high as 300Mbps. If you're a gamer these are the speeds you need to be in for an optimal gaming experience. Before his arrival our televisions also experienced heavy spinning, which now is non- existent. I have never been more satisfied with a service provided like this one. I am definitely going to be using his services again for surveillance camera installation. This is now my go-to guy for all things tech! One last thing, Avery also mounted a television in the game room. He even went so far as to set the proper height for me while I sat down as to avoid strain on my neck while I play video games. The amount of detail this man goes through cannot be emphasized enough!

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

We are not going to be initially the cheapest, but experience has shown that we save our customers $ in other ways, usually including things others have overlooked. This has especially been true in working with GCs and hotel owners where the competitive bid, omitted many things relevant or required by that type of hotel, specific to technologies required. As a network company, we know intimately what is required vs a cable installer who just installs cable generally and may not know specifics such as location or number of cables and types that might be needed in the near future ie cameras not originally spec'd but are needed shortly after construction is complete or arises due to new security concerns that an architect didn't think of.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Survey, quote, adjust to meet budget, contract and deploy. $500 to $500,000.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Microsoft Partner of the year, former Microsoft, Cisco, Ubiquiti trainer, over 400 hotels installed including low voltage design and install, Cisco, Ubiquiti & Ruckus wireless, covering up to 400 sq miles at 29 Palms USMC, and Ocean View SD. Mitel & NEC phone systems, Dahua, Tyco & Exacq Video Surveillance systems to 130 cameras covering up to 350 acres and multiple custom homes, wineries and commercial businesses. Number One Integrator for IHG Hotels 2020, based on national survey of guest LOVE scores.
