I found Joanna on AirBnB Experiences, best decision ever. I wanted to give my boyfriend a creative birthday gift, and at the end of the night he exclaimed Best birthday ever!! Needless to say, couldnt have asked for more. Joanna was not only quick with her replies up to the event, but allowed me to be a part of the process - from choosing the courses to offering to join her at the store to pick it all out. The day-of, she brought everything necessary, and made the process super simple for us. All we had to do was relax and have fun! She was so friendly, and made the process so enjoyable and made us both feel like cooking was actually easy! She showed us the basics ( ie knife skills) to the more in depth cooking (ie making the pasta by hand). The menu was amazing... champagne to kick it off, pinzimonio (veggies) and bruschetta as appetizers, angel hair pasta as our entree with two sauces: pesto and tomato basil, and apple crostata with whipping cream and pomegranate as dessert. It...was...delicious !!! And we had leftovers too :) I cannot wait to do another cooking class with her! Her knowledge of cooking, friendly fun vibe, and reasonable pricing made this an experience I cant wait to do again. Thank you!!

Joanna came to my home to provide a cooking class for myself and a girlfriend. It was a Xmas Gift! And it was incredible. We started with hors d'oeuvres .... bruschetta which was the best I have ever had...she used lightly toasted fresh ciabatta bread rubbed with garlic (yum) and then topped it with simply marinated tomatoes and basil. My mouth waters thinking about it.. and I did eat too many. She followed with amazing fresh vegetable sticks which included fennel stalks, colored carrots, persian cucumber. (I am now a huge fan of fennel stalks...something I never tried before and they are just delicious!). She taught us how to make pasta from scratch! We made our own pasta dough .. another first. We made linguini. She showed us two different sauces: pesto (from scratch, of course!) and fresh tomato, basil, olive oil and garlic.Did I mention we also made apple crostata? Again, from scratch. Yes, I did eat a whole crostata. :)I wish I had had the presence of mind to take some pictures. But I was too busy eating... watching... chatting.. and basically enjoying myself.Joanna brought everything including aprons) and is super-organized. I heartily recommend her. She is delightful, inspiring and patient.

It was the best decision to have Chef Joanna do our holiday Friendsgiving at our home. She made a delicious and healthy inspired spread that was both savory, seasonal and delicious. The whole process from menu planning to her presence in the kitchen and engaging with me and my guests was pleasurable and effortless. Ill definitely use her services again in the future!

Joanna is an amazing chef! So knowledge and kind and just overall awesome. My boyfriend and I booked an Airbnb experience with Joanna for a cooking class at home. She taught us how to use our pasta maker and brought every single thing we needed to make pasta, appetizers and even bought desert! I would highly recommend booking a cooking class with her if you can. Thank you so much Joanna for everything! :)

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
First consultation is free to see if we're a good fit. (VIRTUAL CLASSES) Start at $30 per class. Learn healthy cooking techniques in 45-minute remote classes in a group setting. For beginner and intermediate homecooks. __ Classes start at $95 per person and $250 per couple excluding food costs (Ventura county, LA, SFV, and Burbank). Ask about special pricing for groups. Classes take 2 to 3 hours with an hour of setup and clean up. Catering costs start at $50 per person for family style. Costs start at $95 per person for plated or for 6 or less people.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Have a 15 minute chat on the phone to understand what you're looking at for and any dietary preferences. Then, email you with a list of possible menus, price options to get started.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Training from Le Cordon Bleu graduate in culinary and pastry and internships in France and Italy. In addition, extensive international travel around the world. I also earned my bachelor of science in nutrition from college and worked with dieticians to provide personal chef services for weight loss.
