FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We believe in being upfront and transparent with our pricing so there are no surprises. We offer competitive pricing due to being a family-owned business with lower overhead, and we’re happy to provide preliminary estimates by email when you send photos and basic measurements—saving you time before scheduling an in-home visit. For installations, pricing will vary depending on the scope of work (rehang vs. new frame, door type, and job conditions), but everything is clearly outlined before any work begins. Please note: We accept multiple forms of payment, including credit cards A small processing fee (typically around 3%) applies to credit card payments There may be minimum service charges depending on the job size Any additional work or changes are always discussed and approved before proceeding Our goal is to provide fair, honest pricing while delivering high-quality results that last.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We typically start by requesting photos of your project, which can be emailed or texted to us. If this isn’t possible, our office can schedule an in-person appointment at your convenience. After our installer evaluates the job, you’ll receive an estimate—usually within a day. Once the project is approved, installation timelines vary from 1 to 8 weeks, depending on product availability. Most installations are completed in a single day.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Our experience comes from nearly 40 years of hands-on, real-world training in the field. We’ve been installing doors since the mid-1980s, learning every aspect of the trade—from basic rehangs to complex custom installations. We are licensed contractors in California and have spent decades working directly with homeowners, builders, and manufacturers. Over the years, we’ve developed a deep understanding of proper installation methods, materials, and industry best practices to ensure every door functions and looks the way it should. Our training isn’t just theoretical—it’s built from thousands of completed installations, ongoing product knowledge, and staying up to date with current door systems, hardware, and finishing techniques. At Top Of The Trades, you’re getting experience that only comes from doing the work at a high level for decades.
