UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!! We went with Julie for our engagement session and wedding photos based off a recommendation from a fromer client as well as her reviews. I know that none of you know me from Adam but trust me when I say that if you utilize her services you will be DISAPOINTED and wish you had listen to me after its too late. Luckily for us we were able to realize through her lack of attention to detail and organization prior to the wedding that she was HORRIBLE. I don't even no where to begin. From the second we left her home I should of caught on but looking back now I seen I missed it. We left her home with a handshake and a date set for our engagement shoot. The following day we received an email stating that she looked forward to our engagement shoot on July 19th. The only problem was it was August 16th. Don't know how that was messed up but it was. Little detail I know but keep reading. After the final price was set at $1925 for everything she informed us that we would need to pay for her gas for travel. She also made it a point to let us know she drove an Infinity and took top dollar gas. Why she needs gas money for her services and doesn't charge tax on her services blows my mind. The state of California requires that tax be paid for services. Either way we are getting to the HORRIBLE part of this. Engagment day comes and we meet at Laguna Beach and she starts having an "episode" because her keyless entry car keys are missing and she cant find them. She is arguing with the vallet attendant that no one is aloud to drive her car and speeds around him to park in a spot that isn't allowed to be parked in. We leave and come back to get our vehicle to go to another part of the beach and the attendant asks me "what is she on" which were my thoughts at this point. We go to another part of the beach and find an area that has about 25 people and start our photos around them. Constantly my fiance is asked to move her head down, left, right, down etc. and she keeps stating that she does not feel comfortable doing that. Numerous times we asked to see the photos but were told that it was a surprise and we couldn't see. I think she might have showed one or two just because she really wanted to show it off to us. The photos looked good at the time but so do photos taken on an iphone on zoom. While my fiance was getting self-portraits done her son who she brough with her decided to pull me off to the side and started asking about the Military because he was wanting to join and was trying to get information in regards to it. Now I have no problem at all talking about the military to anyone but the fact she brought her son to an intimate engagement shoot who interrupted the session to ask questions is completely UNSATISFACTORY from a personal and a business prospective. A little over 4 and 1/2 hours go by in which we expected hundreds of photos to be captured. We expected hundreds to be captured based on her previous clients as well as her verbally staing that we would get 75-100. Talking with other photographers the average is about 35-40 per hour. That was all on August 16th and we had an agreement they would be done the first week of September in order to get our save the dates put in the mail. On August 27th we contacted her to see how she was doing in the progress of them and she informed us that she was about 75% done and she was on schedule. On September 4th she stated she would send our pictures over via video form utilizing the smilebox application which is not what we asked for. We wanted to hard copies of the pictures on CD or flash drive which was promised to us so that we could use them for save the dates and printouts. She states that she had a family emergency and was pulled away from home for a while but she will have them sent out tonight which was September 6th. Ok great, we were making progress. NOPE!!!! Not at all. The following morning we emailed her stating we didn't get the pictures and she replied "Yes, I did. However, I'm noticing now that I sent it to xxxxxxxxxxx@gmail.com (name taking out). My mistake. MY MISTAKE?????? That's all she has to say to telling me she sent our pictures to someone else. I would have rathered her not tell me that. So now my pictures of an engagement session are out there in the wrong hands which I spent all this money on. Onto the video we received. 38 pictures with 1 duplicate for a total of 37. Are you X$%&#X@ kidding me. 37 pictures?? We immediately emailed her and asked are these all the pictures assuming the reply was no that is just a snapshot of what you will receive when I mail you the disk. Unfortunately her reply was " Those are all of them. If you tell me which one you want to use for the reminder cards, I will be happy to push that to you via pdf and you can have it right away. I will be out of town, leaving tonight, until Wednesday and will send the disk then. Well we went back and forth on email showing her that we were not satisifed asking for specific poses we knew we took and she emailed 12 more pictures to us and HAS YET to send us disk in the mail as promised per our agreement. We informed her that we were not satisifed with her services and requested that she return our $500 payment that we made toward the total price. She informed us "per my contract, I retain a non-refundable 25% deposit. Your cost of my services were $1,925.00. I will be returning out of your $500.00 deposit, $18.25." We informed her that we did not receive our merchandise/products that we purchased and we would be disputing the charge through our credit card department. Our credit card department understood everything and refunded the money to our account within 1 business day. The photos from the video can not be blown up to larger than 8X10 photos due to the resolution of the files and we still HAVE NOT received our disk in the mail as promised. Her last email on 12 September stated " I'm very sorry that you have to be so quick to judge people. I was kept over by my work in Phoenix (expecting to come home last night). If you would have given me the time to respond to you (as promised per my text to Jennifer; not everyone has a 9-5 job), you would have seen that I was going to do the right thing". I don't know what the right thing is nor do I believe it considering now she states it was work and before it was an emergency. Plus we were 12 days after the date the photos were to be supplied to us via disk. Then to make matters even more WORSE and FUNNY to say the least is she texted us at 11:17pm saying FYI with a copy of the contract. The contract that specifically states that she was to supply us with a CD of our pictures as well as a website link for our pictures which she NEVER did. If you have read this far then good because I have maintained your attention. Everyone that has read this far and still chooses to go with Julie Hilton and Crown Jewel Photography you WILL be DISAPOINTED 100% no question about it. Before Julie comes back with her reply to my review let me say this. If I had a way I would show on here all the email traffic and text messages to prove all of the above information is true and valid because I am sure she will have a reply stating her side of the story which will be complete GARBAGE. The end and good luck to all in your future photography sessions. Let the quality be good, the quantity be enough and the memories forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
