Arisha changed my whole wedding dress experience from stressful to exciting. She was very helpful and patient with my questions, and her questions proved that she was very knowledgeable and thoughtful about her clients. Her work turned out perfect, which was a relief since my dress was made from sensitive material, and the bustle turned out stylish and amazing. It was a joy to work with her and her daughter. I cannot recommend this tailor enough! I brought her a fully beaded gown on a very tight timeline, and the amount of work she was able to complete so quickly and so beautifully was incredible. This was not a simple alteration. She perfectly fitted the arms, added a cutouts, moved the slit, completely fixed the back of the dress, and tailored the entire gown to fit me beautifully. With a fully beaded dress, I knew these changes would be much more difficult than working with a regular fabric, but every alteration looked intentional and seamless. You would never know the dress wasn’t originally designed that way. What impressed me even more was how quickly she completed everything without sacrificing the quality of her work. I was under a serious time crunch, and she made sure my dress was ready and fit perfectly. She also altered my cousin’s dress, and her fit was absolutely perfect too. Seeing how beautifully she tailored two completely different dresses made it obvious how talented and precise she is. I felt amazing in my dress and received so many compliments. She took my vision and made it even better than I imagined. If you have a complicated gown, detailed beadwork, or alterations that require real skill, this is the person you want to trust with your dress. I will absolutely be coming back! Her work has inspired me!

Arisha was quick, good communicator and clearly highly skilled in her work on alterations to my blouses. She has over 25 yrs experience, is an expert seamstress and reasonably priced. I submitted 3 blouses for alterations over 3 weeks, she completed each within a week. She’s better known for doing more elaborate work creating or altering gowns and costumes. I highly recommend Arisha as a seamstress in Vallejo.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I meet with clients or speak by phone to determine their perceived needs. I make recommendations concerning the particular project. I then assist with the fabric and supply sourcing prices and create a timeline for completing of the project.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I initially learned to sew from mom who was an impeccable seamstress working at my father's dry cleaners. I went on to attend College of Alameda where I completed apparel design & merchandising program with an emphasis in suit tailoring. I have continually added to my skill set by working in various workrooms over the years where i could learn and fine tune traditional and modern techniques.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started this work by taking on the client's who didn't want to pay my mother's tailoring prices. Sewing and alterations services were how I financially sustained myself in college.
