Introduction: I teach fun, personalized guitar lessons to students of all ages and skill levels, and I've been at it since 2011. Choosing the right teacher for yourself or your child can potentially make the difference between a weekly obligation and a meaningful learning experience that can enrich your life! I graduated the Berklee College of Music in 2011 with a degree in Guitar Performance and have been teaching music lessons and classes ever since. My expertise include guitar, drums, bass and instruction in music theory, songwriting, improvisation (soloing) and ear training. I also have a strong knowledge of music genres including rock, pop, metal, fusion and funk. My career working in bands and as a touring artist also allows me to offer insight into the music industry for those looking to pursue music professionally! I always meet my students where they're at and endeavor to teach them the specific skills they wish to improve upon. For some, that means being able to strum through their favorite songs around a campfire. For others it means building a firm understanding of fretboard mechanics and using music theory to compose songs and solos to record with their band. Wherever you are in your music journey, I'm here to help guide and expand your knowledge with fun and encouraging lessons. Let's get rockin!

Alon took my guitar playing from amateur to intermediate in just a few short lessons. Alon quickly identified technique issues and expertly guided me to fix them and to START Jamming! Alon is a pleasure to work with and be around you will have an outstanding guitar or bass lesson with Alon!

Guitar Lessons

Alon is an awesome, knowledgeable guitar teacher. He always sends emails with the stuff you covered in lessons so you can learn and practice on your own which is a great help for guided practice and improvment

Guitar Lessons

I’m very glad to have hired Alon. He’s a master at putting a potentially nervous student at ease, and is an absolute delight to work with. His follow-up is great, and he’s got a demeanor that just makes you feel like you’ve known him forever. I’ve only had one lesson, but already I’m looking forward to many more.

Guitar Lessons

When I looked him up I saw that his main type of guitar playing was metal. So I thought he might not be a good teacher for me because I am a singer songwriter. But I was very very wrong because his knowledge of scales and music theory is incredibly high. So he can teach anybody and play any style and it’s very easy to work with him!! 5 stars from me!

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I typically charge $100/hr, $80/forty-five minutes and $60/half hour. I'm currently limiting my lessons to online only.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

My first priority is to meet the student where they're at. First lessons usually involve some preliminary assessment and then formulating a strategy for ensuring the student is learning the kind of material that interests them and gets their playing to where they want it to be in order to meet their musical goals.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I began playing guitar at the age of 9 and percussion a few years later. I've been playing music professionally since the age of 16, and in 2011 received my degree in Guitar Performance from the Berklee College of Music. Since moving to LA, I've continued teaching in addition to recording and playing locally, nationally and internationally with bands ranging from heavy metal to pop to fusion and more.
