I thought long and hard about writing this review and finally decided that its only fair that I should. Like everyone else I rely on reviews from customers on products and services to help me decide. I contacted Ana at Bartendsd after receiving her bid 27 days before my event. She was very friendly, polite and very helpful. I'd never hired a barter before so I had a million questions all of which she answered! After a couple of emails, texts and phone calls I decided to hire her. Seven days before my event she texted me out if the blue asking how everything was going. It was so great and unexpected I was really impressed at her attention to detail. My event was scheduled for 6pm on 27 October 12. We spoke the morning of the event to and she told me her employee Jacqueline was going to be my bartender not her. That was fine with me. She said Jacqueline would arrive at 5:30pm to set up. Ana called me at 4:56pm to let me know Jacqueline is running late and she would arrive 15 minutes before my event because she wasn't feeling well. At 5:17pm Ana called to let me know Jacqueline was not coming at all! I was completely shocked. 45 minutes before my event! She said Jacqueline had stomach issues. Ana herself was out of town and unable to find anyone else to cover my event. Needless to say it completely screwed me. She offered to cover the cost of a hiring a new bartender but 45 minutes before my event, lets face it there was no way that was going to happen. I honestly hope my incident was isolated because I really liked the way Ana was so helpful. She was so nice! I'm so disappointed.

Bartend SD is very sorry for Inconveniencing our client George, It was very unfortunate that we had an irresponsible bartender who faked her sickness so that she could go out for Halloween night. She is no longer with our company. We have take measures to no longer double book events or book events that I will be out of town for. I myself was in fact out of town and even if I had wanted to I could not fly back in time as the woman working for us did not give us enough time to call another bartender that could make the event. I am a person that pays attention to detail and this is the first time that this has every happened in Bartend SD's 6 year of non complaint history. I wish I could have done more for George, I offered to pay for another bartending service to attend his event but he felt there was no way he could find someone within an hour. We are again very sorry and we know this will never happen in the future as we have changed our policies and contracts that our future bartenders will have to sign. I although will be attending every event from now on to make sure that nothing like this occurs in the future. Again George we deeply apologize for the mishap. Ana Vuletic

Ana made my New Orleans-themed 50th birthday party a fun and memorable night for all of our 100+ guests. In additon to dressing the part for Mardi Gras without us even requesting it, she and her staff were the utmost professionals, extremely knowledgeable about their craft, fast on their feet and lots of fun. WAY ABOVE AND BEYOND THE CALL OF DUTY: All the while, unbeknownst to our guests, Ana's mind was on an immediate relative here in San Diego who sustained life-threatening injuries in a motorcycle accident just hours before the party. Anyone else would have cancelled the gig -- and understandably so. But not Ana. She rushed here from the hospital, calling to explain why she was going to be slightly late. I was stunned and humbled by her calm professionalism in the face of a family emergency and her determination to keep a commitment to a client. She is an outstanding, hard-working businesswoman and a truly wonderful human being. Our recommendation? On a scale of 1 to 10, Ana and BartendSD get a 20 from us. I hired BartendSD for my husband's birthday party. I had never hired a bartender for a private party before but Ani of BartendSD made it effortless. She provided a custom menu, came early to get everything set up and the bartender she provided was very nice and very professional. Everyone at the party had a blast trying all the drink specials. I had a retirement party in which Ana was my bartender. She was very professional throughout the entire evening and even wore a hawaiian shirt so she would blend in with the theme of my party. She was my saving grace, because not only did she bartend, she also helped set the food out, clean up, and walked around and took pictures so I would have memories from my party. I would most definitely use BartendSD for my next party. So happy to have found them through thumbtack.com
