Introduction: There are two things in life that I knew that I wanted to do since I was a young girl. The first was to pursue a life of music, where I could play the instruments that I love, the Violin and Piano. The second was to share that love of music with others through teaching. Just like how my teachers helped me, I want to be a part of helping other students find their own love for music. My time in Taiwan, Germany, and the United States showed me how across different cultures, teachers approach sharing that message. I believe that my diverse background studying music in several different continents, countries, and cultures will bring a unique perspective to music that would benefit students. Whether it's violin, viola or piano, I hope to help people find their own joy in music! I feel very fortunate to have found Iris as my piano teacher. I am an adult student and l have been studying classical piano with her for more than a year. She helps me set solid foundations (finger techniques, sight reading and some music theory) in my piano journey. Her teaching is personalized to my music preferences (she gives me enough agency to pick pieces that I love that suit my level) and life circumstances (she gives me just the right amount of assignments every week). She sets me up for challenges that are just a little beyond my comfort level so I can progress without feeling frustrated. Her love for music touches and inspires me, every time I have a lesson with her. I highly recommend her as a teacher for adults interested in playing the piano.

Iris is truly the best! She is an absolute pro for both playing and teaching. She can break down musical concepts for easy understanding and always gives great insight to improve technique. The exercises and books she recommended matched my experience level (beginner) and we were able to build from there with lessons. Inspirational music professional. We were very lucky to have Iris as a piano teacher for our teenage son. For the past 6 months, our son, Alexander had wonderful time under Iris’s guidance. Iris’s instructions, patience and passion left an indelible impression upon our son. As parents we are very impressed at the progress Alex made in just a half year. I’m a college student who took piano lessons with Iris for a few months. She identified exactly where to start, knowing that I was familiar with some music theory but not the specifics of piano playing. Iris was an extremely effective teacher—she pointed me to helpful practice techniques, demonstrated sections that I found challenging, and overall facilitated my rapid improvement. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I offer 30min, 45min and 60min lessons. It depends on how your schedule looks like and we can accommodate your needs. For beginner kids, I will suggest 30min lesson. For adult, I will do 45-60min per lesson.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I will ask their musical background, what age of the student and get to know their goals for learning music.
