Introduction
The most important part of what I do is maintaining my client's voice and perspective. The deliverable is theirs and it should reflect that. I take great pride in the perfecting the details in a project so that there is no question that the end product is the very best version possible.

FAQs

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

When I was eight or nine, I read the Ann Landers advice column in the local newspaper each day. I told my parents that I was going to do that job when I grew up. Many decisions and a business degree later, I was somehow lucky enough in my career that my various positions always held some amount of writing responsibility. And, seeing my writing fulfilling a need or helping someone in some way was always the most rewarding part. Choosing to become a freelancer was scary for sure, but I'm truly excited by the idea of helping others tell their stories.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

Speech writing, ghostwriting, editing, brochures, annual report stories, patient stories for newsletters, web content and proofreading.

  • What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Writing is seen as a creative process. I'd like customers to know that it definitely is both of those - it takes inspiration and a certain type of energy to accomplish a writing goal. Equally important, a good writer will know his or her best method, including a way to check (and recheck and recheck again) the results, identifying the most efficient and best way to produce a work and staying on deadline. And, it is worth mentioning the value of grammar rules and chosen style.
